So I kinda disappeared after my bike got tipped because it was getting repaired... I have a long list of mods and extras now.
I didn't have much to post about with no bike to ride so I was lurking for a few weeks. Anyways, my car died over the weekend so I really got thrown right back onto the bike, I am commuting 100 miles on it for work! (50 each way)
I must say, it's really great to get a good ride in before work, very relaxing. I think the only thing that sucks if I keep forgetting my ear plugs and my left ear feels the pain when I am going 90... Might hit Walgreens on the way home for some foam ones or I will keep it slow and enjoy the trek back. It's really great to be back out there though, and of course it gives me something to contribute here.
Edit: I should mention my bike got tipped just a few days prior to TOB turning into crap so I haven't posted much of anything here yet...
Is it the wind or the exhaust bothering you?
If it is the wind -- maybe look into getting a new helmet?
Glad to hear you're back in business!! [clap]
-IIRC, you're in Boston?? I live in Roslindale + usually hit the backroads of Plymouth + the Cape (there are some good ones) so if you ever want to go riding, lemme know!! [thumbsup]

It's the wind... left ear has always been iffy, not too bad and I never failed a hearing test but I just favor my right... I have a really nice Arai helmet but from what I hear they have a lot of wind noise.
I have good plugs for long rides but I just keep forgetting them at home...
My arai is super noisy at freeway speeds, so i too wear ear plugs.
hey weren't you doing that insane job on the red 900 on TOB? i was followin that one pretty close but never saw it in completion.
Welcome! :) Glad to hear you are back on the bike. [thumbsup] Good luck with the ear plugs. I wear mine all the time too.
Welcome back!
I also have an Arai helmet which, honestly, makes a lot of windnoise. Always have my earplugs in, but didn't the last three rides. Next time I will use them again, though..... Hey, what did you say...?!? Huh...? Can you repeat that again...?
Do you have pics of your bike? With the mods and extra's. :)

Not me on a red bike, must be someone else... I had the Matrix edition, I started to do my own work on it but I got overwhelmed and Ducvet rescued me. He did a fantastic job, excellent work, and then my bike got tipped over so we had to do more mods [cheeky]... A lot of the stuff I wanted the first time around I did not want to pay for because I thought maybe I'd get a bigger bike, so rather than clip-ons I got Suburban Machinery bars and rather than dual black headlights I just sprayed my chrome rim black on the solo light. Insurance took care of damages and the second time around I had it modded the way I want it, just waiting on one last part but I had to grab the bike early because my car had died... I decided a 620 is plenty of bike for me so I bought all the bling I wanted this time, I am really happy with it. I actually bought some parts off guys on TOB but due to the transition I do not know how to thank them but I really have some great people here helping out, so if the guy that sold me the cooler and the tank guy is reading "thank you" both for sending good parts quickly!

I do have pics but I want to wait until it's fully complete, I can promise though it does look great, really it's almost right at the point where it is the exact bike I want... I will have pics soon with a list of my mods.
Ah, i remember you.. the matrix parked out in the street and you walked out in the middle of the night to find it on its side. Good to see you here, and i'm curious what you've done to your bike since.

So I have the bike back and it's awesome... Unfortunatly I have been working straight out 16+ hour days lately and I just cannot find time to take pics since i will be flying out of state for over a week...
Anyways, I have been meaning to take pics but just have been so bogged, coming soon though...
Not to ruin the suprise but some of the recent upgrades are clip ons, speedy moto triple, speedy moto belt and sprocket covers, oil cooler, dual headlights and lowered guages etc, and of course a classy paintjob... I really want to clean it up and do the pics right though, hopefully soon...
welcome back.....glad to hear all is well with you & the bike. [moto]
Welcome back! I saw the tip over on TOB made me want to cry its a beautiful bike and i cant wait to see the finished product [thumbsup]
Here's the bike!
Finally got a chance to take pics but no fancy shots yet... I just shot these in my GF's driveway, hopefully I can wash it and go somewhere with a good view and take some nice pictures, for now though these show the bike.
Thanks to Ducvet for doing the work, he is really a master of the art! thanks to Ducpainter for the awesome paintjob, the pictures just don't do it justice you really need to see it in person to appreciate the work... Once I get it cleaned up and the lighting is better I will take some good pictures...

FYI- I still have my Matrix tank, it will sit on my DVD shelf safe and sound, the dent in it was not bad enough to repaint the whole thing so I decided to buy a second tank thrashed and have it fixed up custom. I really can't say how happy I am with the bike, it's pretty much the perfect bike for me right now and I cut no corners on what I wanted to have done. I started doing my own work and quickly I found myself in over my head, Ducvet came to the rescue and did an amazing job and was very clever with re-routing all my wires, it's really just fascinating how clean everything is- I still look at the bike and smile at how clean the wiring looks. Ducpainter took a smashed tank that I bought and somehow magically it's now this show-quality custom paintjob, he literally recreated my vision perfectly with this paintjob.
I know this has a lot of bling for a 620, eventually I may upgrade to a bigger motor, but for now at my skill level I really still think the 620 is the best size for me. the good thing is that if or when I decide to swap the motor I can always transfer a lot of these parts. For now though I looked at the bike as a blank canvas and carefully planned all the color choices and parts, as we all know there's a lot to choose from out there.
The bike is in desparate need of a good washing but I am riding dirty today, no time to wash it only time to ride... With all that said, enjoy:
