Title: Breath Box for Scorpion Helmets
Post by: psycledelic on November 21, 2010, 08:27:57 AM
I bought a new Exo700 a couple of days ago and also got the breath box / deflector, whatever you want to call it.  It is very, very cool.  gonna make a big difference this winter.  Simple to install, just unsnap the to front snaps of the cheek pads and stick on one piece of velcro to the lower front of the helmet.  The box itself has an adjustable (or should I say, bendable) fitting over the nose, and there is play in the wings that the helmet cheekpad snaps go through so that it will conform to different size faces when you put the helmet on.  Foam inside, so it is very comfortable to wear, but probably very absorbent if you cough or sneeze (I haven't tried that out yet).  It is a pretty basic install and I really don't see how you couldn't make it work on other type helmets, but it fits the Exo400 and Exo700 perfectly.  It is less then $8 new.  If you ride in the winter, definitely worth the investment, in my opinion.

+1 on the fogging up when stopped in the cold. i have also noticed the the sun visor is more likely to fog up the the shield.

It might be worth checking into, because the box fits the 700/400 (no sun visor).  The sun visor might hit before coming completely down.  Not sure, just thinking out loud.
