Title: Haikumoto
Post by: Duc L'Smart on June 10, 2008, 02:46:57 PM
In which serious, yet possibly light-hearted Haiku concerning motorcycles will be composed and shared amongst ourselves.

Hiaku is very loosely defined, and Western Haiku is very different from Japanese Haiku.
Haiku in English is generally in a 3 line format, with the lines respectively having 5-7-5 syllables.
Haiku does not rhyme, and generally has a pause at the end of the 1st or 2nd line.
Japanese Haiku always contains one word referring to a season, but we can skip that. Motorcycle references can be optional as well, although encouraged.

Every post in this thread must contain a Haiku.

Here's an example:

Whitecaps on the bay:
A broken signboard banging
In the April wind.

One more example-

To express oneself
in seventeen syllables
is very diffic
