Title: A Little Holiday T N A
Post by: DucDucDave on December 19, 2010, 12:41:20 PM
(Tuesday Night Alternative, what'd you think?)

What: A little get-together to celebrate the holidays, friends, and the like.
When: Tuesday, December 21.  7pm-?
Where:
Poliform Showroom (our new City North location)
5450 East High Street #107
Phoenix, AZ 85054

City North is just east of Desert Ridge Marketplace, south of Deer Valley Road, north of the 101.  We're directly across from Blue Martini.

Since we're finally up and running at the new digs, I wanted to invite all my Duc friends up to just hang out and see what's been keeping me off the bike these last several months.  I'll serve some beer, wine, root beer, light appetizers, etc.  Nothing too fancy.  I'll try to have some spaces for the bikes saved up front around 7.

If you don't mind, post up or PM me if you can make it, so I can plan the food and drink quantities.  Feel free to bring a spouse, guest, etc.

Hope you can make it.  Thanks!

- Dave

By the way, this ain't no sales pitch!  It really is just a get together that happens to be at the new showroom.

My wife and kids will be there, so again, feel free to bring yours, as applicable/desired.

Maybe.

Are you guys going to ride over to TT afterwards?

What, you don't like FREE beer?  Over at the Cafe Racers page on meetup.com, there was some mention of a conflict tonight, along with a call for suggestions for an alternate location... So who knows.  Plus, there's the weather...

I've never tasted beer, but I'd probably agree with you that free beer is more likable. I was just wondering what the plan was in case I couldn't make it until later. If I do go, it'll hopefully be at 7:30pm or 8:00pm.

But ya, the weather -- I'm a hydrophobic molecule.

Dave, you are preaching "Free Beer" to the wrong man....  ;D

The "conflict" and alternate location was your shin-dig! heehee

I was considering if the weather held, that going to TT after this might be a fun option.
But looks like weather might not be so nice as the evening wears on... http://tinyurl.com/25qpx3a (http://tinyurl.com/25qpx3a) so maybe just your par-tay!

"Par-tay" might be a little strong... "casual get-together," maybe?

As far as getting here later, that's no problem -- I'll be here until 9 or 10, or later if people stick around.  I figured people might go to TT afterward... didn't mean to create a conflict -- just something different/additional.

Weather

It looks like the rain is moving from the southwest to the northeast and just hitting the east valley -- Chandler, Gilbert, AJ, etc. The big clouds over Gila Bend right now will hit Mesa in about an hour, and altogether it looks like norther Phoenix and Scottsdale will stay relatively dry.

As it is now, I'm planning to go.

However, in addition to rain, holiday shoppers can be very scary on the road.

Ride safe, everyone.

Parking update:  I got approval for valet zone and/or covered sidewalk parking + 10 cones to use as we like.

OH yeah, don't use Tatum -- use the 101 and take the 56th Street exit to get here.  Much less shopping traffic.

We're surrounded!

Wunderground is still saying only a 60% chance of rain. Hm.
More radar: http://tinyurl.com/3yj2q4g (http://tinyurl.com/3yj2q4g)
It doesn't look good.
