Please ask if these are compatible with a 98 600ss. I believe they are, but put me down for a set either way.
Will the fancy NGK wires that you guys sell work with these?

We don't have the parts microfiche for that bike, but they replace OE p/n 380.4.004.1B so if you have a way of looking that up for your bike via the manual that would be best. If not, you can buy the kit and compare them side by side to your stock coils. If they are a different shape then you can call us for a RA# and we will give you a full refund as long as you keep the product packaging and do not install them on your bike.
You can order here: https://www.ca-cycleworks.com/cart/add.php?refer=ducati/maint.html&action=add&item=ExactFit+Hi+Voltage+Ignition+Coils+M%2C+SS%2C+MH900e%3A2VCOILS$159.00&id=dcaadb91 (https://www.ca-cycleworks.com/cart/add.php?refer=ducati/maint.html&action=add&item=ExactFit+Hi+Voltage+Ignition+Coils+M%2C+SS%2C+MH900e%3A2VCOILS$159.00&id=dcaadb91)

Yes, there is a small mod you have to do to the boot to make them work, but they will. Chris can go over it with you more if you are interested. You can reach him M-F 2-6p pst :)
Thanks,
Candice

I believe we got back to you in email right?
"Hi Quentin,
Thanks for writing. The coils on your bike are actually a different
configuration than the ones we sell and would not fit. Please see the
attached parts book pg 48-49 drawing 18 compared to the same drawing
for the 2006 M620 I attached as well.
Please contact DynaTek or any of their vendors to get the correct
coils for your bike.
Thanks,
The Cycleworks Team"
Candice or others,
Can you advice as to whether the 2001 M600 exactfit coils are suitable for a 98 model.
Can't seem to find the info anywhere
Thanks

In our search, we found our coils will only fit the 2001 model M600. We don't have the parts diagram for a 1998 so I cannot double check that. If you can take a look at the coil shape on your bike now you will be able to tell right away if ours will fit or not. Keep us posted via email at orders@ca-cycleworks.com; maybe send us a picture of your coils on your bike now.
Hi,
I'll be buying some coils and FCR's at some point over the next 6 months (when some cash becomes spare) and would like to know if you will mark them as a gift, or will I need to get you guys to ship them to my relatives in San-Francisco first?
Cheers - Ben

They will fit. The coils have the exact same boil diameter and tab location as the coils on all models going back to 1980.
I successfully fit them to my 1983 Pantah 600TL for size and function and then installed them on my 1996 600SS.
They are nearly the same dimensions as the old Motoplat coils as well. The only downside is the spark wire comes out the opposite end, but that just necessitates a slightly longer spark wire. Same dimensions and layout as a Yamaha coil, but has different electrical specs.

I'm sorry, we cannot mark it as a gift as it is illegal. Very sorry about that.

Define "not fit." Mine is now rather custom... if I have these coils, will they work on a baby S2R? Or do the stockers for the S2R have a built in igniter or some such nonsense that makes the exact fit entirely unsuitable?

So sorry for the delayed reply. We don't check here that often :)
Your bike's coils are completely different in size and shape to our coils and therefore will not fit. See the fiche here: http://ca-cycleworks.com/c/media/parts_catalog/2006/MS2R_usa_06_ed_00.pdf (http://ca-cycleworks.com/c/media/parts_catalog/2006/MS2R_usa_06_ed_00.pdf)
That's too bad - I'd buy some just because they're sexy red and it's cool that you make stuff like this ;)
BTW - if you set your profile to include email notifications for answers in your threads (I think that's possible), it'll be easier to see when questions are asked.
They also have a different primary resistance than the S2R800 stockers. ~5 ohms vs. 0.5 ohms.
