The Annual New Year's day ride to Tortilla Flat!
When: Saturday, January 1st, all day long.
This event is an Arizona tradition for the first official ride of the year. Lots of bikes come out of the wood work. Many different types of riders and bikes show up. It's not a sporting ride; probably more of a parade lap to be honest (at least getting to the restaurant), but I consider it a rite of passage. :)
Some of us are planning to head out on a longer ride in the afternoon after checking out the scene at Tortilla Flat. We are playing the route by ear and can work out the details over breakfast.

Basic Directions: US-60 East to Idaho Road (Turn Left). Idaho Road North about 3 miles to Hwy 88 (Turn Right). Hwy 88 takes you right to it (about 14 miles)...

See you there!
I have to change my rear sprocket before I can go anywhere. It's kind of a long story, but I should get the part in before the end of the week.
So, I might go.

Crossing my fingers you get it back together in time for the festivities! :)

Thanks. I should have the sprocket in time.
I don't mean to threadjack, so here is the discussion about my current problems (videos and images included) -- http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=45342.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=45342.0)
All the streets up here in Prescott look like this photo I took this morning, so no moto for me:

Everything is back together awesomely.
I'm going to give it a bit of a test ride tomorrow first thing, but then I should be there at Joes at 9.
It's going to be cold -- mad cold.
Several comments:
1) Freezing cold. :o
2) Fun ride, thanks to Dietrich for helping me out with the sprocket so I could make it. I'm really glad I was able to go. [thumbsup]
3) Dave, where the crap did you go? I looked behind me and you were suddenly gone. I went back to find you, but you disappeared. ???
4) Thanks everyone for waiting for me at the Beeline overpass. Although, I think we need a better system in place for group rides to make sure we're all okay the whole time.

Dang it! Sorry about that. I thought I had made it known that I'd be peeling off to head on home. I just did it right after the gas stop, not realizing beforehand that that was where the route split. Thanks for checking up, and I hope I didn't inconvenience you/you all.
Fun day! Happy new year to all!
No inconvenience, Dave! Glad it was all okay. :)
It was great seeing everyone - and all bundled up.
That was a fun day! Breakfast at Joe's Farm Grill was yummy good, the ride to TTF was twisty, sketchy, slippery, and we all arrived (and got home) without incident.
That road really does suck.
Not many bikes there, which was expected, but still disappointing.
Saw a couplea cherry CB750's, and er, that was about it for old bikes.
There was a very cool 1988 silver Honda Hawk... oh wait, that was my bike! ;D
We got hot chocolate, kicked some tires, benchraced some, and headed out.
Another successful ringing in the New Year moto-style.

Nice to see you guys had a decent turn out for the ride. It was a cold one!!
We're aiming to have our bikes all back in shape and running smoothly again for the 2011 season. Hopefully we'll get to join you all for some rides!
