Title: New From Illinois
Post by: Outlaw1100 on January 21, 2011, 09:58:24 AM
Hello from frozen Illinois...Bought my first Ducati back in the fall...new 2009 M1100S.  That very weekend, took it down to Deals Gap to...er...break 'er in.  Very pleased with the performance aspects of the bike.

This will be my 17th year of riding, just about all on sportbikes.  I've owned Hondas (CBRs of various sizes and a VFR) and Yamahas (couple of R6s) in the past.  Changed to the Monster because of the more relaxed riding position (sportbikes have started killing my wrists as I age), and the fact that it has performance close to the sportbikes, and because, da*& it, the bike just looks and sounds cool.

I like to ride in the Smokies, and also like to ride along the Mississippi river from the Quad-Cities up to Wisconsin and back.  Also have done a few track days.  This summer's riding plans include a BMW rental for an Alaskan adventure.

Now, back to staring at the new bike in the garage until the snow thaws...

Snow  [bang]

Welcome and congratulations with a M1100.

If you miss the wrist angles (sweep) from the sport bikes,
WoodCraft makes riser clip ons...
