Hey amigos, I just discovered that FasTrak was overcharging me for using the carpool lane on my Streetfighter and scooter.
Be sure to check online (http://www.bayareafastrak.org/ (http://www.bayareafastrak.org/)) to make sure you're not getting ripped off. In my case I was getting charged $7 instead of $2.50 for the Richmond-SR bridge.
I'd be curious to know if this is happening to anyone else.
Wow, that sucks. I havent been on the Richmond bridge lately, but the Golden Gate is charging normally, and the Bay Bridge has yet to read my plates (of course I stop and pay the toll in cash, officer)
Actually a guy just posted up about this on BARF. He's been getting dinged $6 when he goes through on his moto during carpool hours. The bike is registered properly with Fastrak. Thanks for the heads up. [thumbsup]

Interesting - did he say which bridge?
The funny thing is on the RSR bridge, $7.00 doesn't correspond to a normal car or moto toll. I can't tell if it's supposed to be some kind of penalty, or it thinks I have a dual-axle Vespa. ???
He was on the BB.
The little bit of my brain that still operates all lawyer-like n' stuff says "class action."

Go for it!
Or maybe just stick with poo and diapers. You'll feel cleaner.
BTW, I have to give them props for speed. I complained via a web form yesterday, and got an email today saying I was being credited the difference.
I've been shocked also with Fastrak service. I had some sort of random pregnant dog with them a couple of years back, and they were like, "uh, just write us a letter stating 'x' and we'll just figure it out on our end." And they did. In, like, three days. The process was reasonable, fast and fair. It seems completely anathema to an organization like that.

I generally don't sue public entities. ;) But I know plenty of folks who do.

i just got my DMV registration bill = $178.
are they overcharging me because of my foreign last name? is this the digits you guys pay up?
my car registration is less than my ducati.... maybe they would charge less for a honda? i am just brainstorming...

Ive been getting over for years in my car with 3 and 4 axels Two on the front and one or two on the back. Been saving all kinds of money.
