Hi all,
Was fortunate to be bought a voucher for Top Rider's advanced course for Christmas (bloody great Wife!).
Just wondering if anyone else is heading out there?
im not heading out there dan but have done it previously .........its a very tight and technical track and it really gets you sorted out on braking and cornering.....Bernie is a top instructor and i reckon you will have a great day and if you listen it will improve your riding quite a bit once you get back on the road ...........
wow! what a chrissie present.
Have fun Dan.
Looks like a rider course report is in order
Yeah, a brilliant present!
Its next weekend, so I will do my best to give a review afterwards.

Hi all,
Well just completed the 'Level 1' Advanced riding course with Bernie Hatton at Marulan on Sat. In a single word - BRILLIANT, MUST DO! Ok, ok, ok I know that's three words......
This really is a very well run course that I would recommend to anyone, with practically any riding level as a starting point for your advanced training. I don't have any photo's to upload just yet as they were going mad snapping everything on the day. Once I have copies, I will upload.
I was so impressed about the day, I had to convey my thoughts back to their business. Here's the email that I sent back to them to give you some idea of my thoughts on the day;
Good morning,
I would like to extend a huge T-H-A-N-K-S for a brilliant day out at the Marulan track on Saturday for the level 1 course with Bernie.
I picked my licence up only two years ago & ever since have wanted to undertake some professional training to build ‘real world’ skills and confidence. Well, the course delivered that and more, much more.
It really was a brilliant day out, very professionally run & the whole team were a pleasure to be around. Bernie’s contagious enthusiasm, Alex’s knowledge & experience, George’s advice & support, Paige’s paparazzi like skills all rolled together with Bernie’s Son’s assistance was just outstanding. The facilities & catering (with the possible exception of the drinks cooler.....) were all beyond expectations and added to the overall feel of a first class product.
The way in which the day was run, with a first walk through the track, followed by a few laps then skill drills throughout the day â€" with tons of explanations â€" made it simple and easy to follow. I certainly feel that I left the track with additional knowledge that I can use & benefit from on any road surface, any time. This was one of the attractions of your course v’s some others who are more track biased in nature.
Simply put, I had a ball & would recommend it to anyone at any level of riding. Just to emphasise that it is relevant to anyone, what a blast it was to see the young guy on the 450cc Yamaha Motard take it to the bloke on the Hyabusa down the straight!!
That was also another element of the day that I enjoyed so much â€" the complete lack of ego.
There was certainly ‘personality’ plus from each of the instructors, but no ego. Same for all of the attendees. People were certainly pushing their skills on the track during the open sessions, but I never felt at any stage that it was dangerous or that I was being pushed by the other guys beyond my skills, right up to the limit of my skills perhaps, but not beyond.
I am as keen as mustard to see all of the photo’s and any video that was taken on the day and would appreciate if you can tell me how to obtain copies.
You do courses right up to level 7, did you say, Bernie? Perhaps I’d better start planning for level 2 then........
Again, a massive thank you for such a great day out, beneficial, experiential & most of all, extremely enjoyable.
Regards
Dan (on the noisy red & white Ducati Monster S4RS)
Great work Dan!
Look forward to the pics (and maybe a youtube vid)
Here you go, some with me & some with Bernie.......

Now that's a thought...................
I'm supposed to be up at the Central Coast that weekend, so it may be a little difficult. If I can move things around, I'll be there!
Apparently being on the Central Coast is not an excuse [cheeky]
