Title: GPS and life...
Post by: irridium on February 24, 2011, 09:11:39 AM
hey, I'm trying to find a good GPS for my 696.  I've been looking at the Garmin 550 which seams to come highly recommended, but isn't $600 for a unit that has been out since 07 a bit much?  Can anyone recommend a better option?  There is the tomtom rider 2, but it seems to be unavailable in the US and is also form 07/08.

After some research, I got the Garmin Zumo 220 (waterproof).

I paid, including local 25% VAT, about US$ 460.

didn't see your profile, was just going by the VAT.  I live in southern Sweden part time.

I bought a newer 660 model, works great! You have to check the Garmin web site for the rare factory sale and or rebate.
I bought mine a year ago with a $100 manufactures rebate from these guys, the lowest web price I found. http://www.thedigitaloasis.com/ (http://www.thedigitaloasis.com/)
