Carlos Checa on the Ducati won both races, got to the lead in the first few laps and then was never challenged. Biaggi got two 2nd places on the Aprilia and Haslam BMW and Melandri scored a third each.

10 laps in and Checa is 8th but Smrz is leading on Fabizio's Ducati from last year, and pulling away !
But his tyres went off, Melandri (yami) 1st, Smrz 2nd, and well done to Checa from 11th to 3rd.

Max is a girl full stop! He wouldn't of done that to Checa or anyone else as he would of been head butted straight away.  Hope he loses the title, he's a blouse wearer!  ;D

He had a weekend long brainsnap, rode off the track I don't know how many times in heat one, then jumped the start in heat two and was blackflagged for not taking his penalty. Strange behaviour for a multiple world champ.

that was a broken wheel, apparently an OZ Racing wheel, spectacular stuff!

great clip dock, melandri slapped biaggi back on the track with a great ride in both races, goes to show, the guy is still a tool, the #1 on his bike just inflated his ego more.

you are correct it was a OZ Racing forged magnesium and yeah later found out the wheel broke off at the hub - when they brought it in the centre was still attached.  Also a rumour that there was a bit of a collision earlier that could of weakened the rim, allegedly those rims should be retired after x hours of racing - still spectacular though.

Correct, it was a Cattiva R (Racing only) Forged Magnesium rim, which apparently let go, am still waiting for OZ to tell me their side of the story, but we only bring in the Forged Alloy rims before the hysteria starts.. have to say i am surprised, as OZ are a completely professional group, and are owned by Braking, most the guys are ex Marchesini... anyway, if i find out more will let you know...

yeah I have seen hysteria on other forums, people looking to cancel orders because of an incident they dont have the full details on - all unjustified in my opinion.  These are racing rims that get a hard life - the rims that you buy for street would be safe as.  OZ Racing has been around for how long?  First I have ever heard of it in race conditions...but we digress from the thread...as usual  ;D

Race 2, Carlos on the last lap on soft tyres sliding all over the place, and still schooled Max on his high HP priller!

Awesome stuff - Go Carlos!

Looks like it will be a good racing year in wsbk....

Missed the 2nd heat unfortunately, fell asleep during the supersports 2nd red flag.

But that was great pass, poor Max  :'( (I'm sure he's not used to being treated like that)

Just a reminder, Superbikes from Monza this weekend.

          Superpole  2pm - 3pm  Sunday    British Superbikes  6pm - 7.30pm

          World Superbikes  7.30 pm

That will make a blissfull 6 + hrs of Sunday night bike racing, almost makes Foxtell worthwhile.
