Post by: Turf on March 04, 2011, 02:18:29 AM
'The Boat that Guy Built'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00z8jdv (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00z8jdv)

Motorcycle racer and mechanic Guy Martin attempts to renovate a neglected narrowboat with inventions from the Industrial Revolution.

It's out on torrent sites and is my new fav show.

It says that this is not available in my area on the link. Do you have another or is it all thru BBC?

Oh this is good!!  I knew Martin had a great personality, but this really shows what a great bloke he is [thumbsup]

On our first trip to England back in 95, we stayed with friends in Surrey.  One day, we rented a narrow boat and cruised up and down the river Wey (from Godalming to Guilford and Bowers Lock).  Damn that was delightful!!  At one point, we were working through a lock, and admiring the ruins of a chapel on a rise near the river (St Catherines?), when a Concorde flew over departing Heathrow. The juxtaposition of history and technologies was amazing!
