Title: Axle Grease
Post by: Grappa on June 13, 2008, 02:31:29 PM
Fitting a new rear sprocket on the bike this weekend and I was wondering if white lithium grease is acceptable for the rear axle.  What do you use?  Thanks!

I picked up a can of Mobil 1 Synthetic grease at the local AutoZone for such jobs.

White Lith will be too light for axle applications.  Good for stuff like you're lever pivots and other light duties, not so much for heavy stuff.

As a true moto-nut, it's gotta be either Bel-Ray, Motul or Golden Spectro.  Genuine motorcycle greases for genuine motorcycles!
