Title: Shark RSR2 cheek pads?
Post by: Privateer on April 07, 2011, 12:51:27 PM
I can't seem to find replacement cheek pads for my helmet.  after talking to a shop owner, he advised me ever since Shark has stopped selling in the US, parts are hard to come by.

Not to sure how valid that is, but I've tried searching google until I wanted to claw my eyes out to no avail.

My question is if anyone knows a retailer who has cheek pads for an XL RSR2?

I like it, but I admit my experience with helmets is limited.  It's very light.  I like that the shield is very thick (after almost getting my eye taken out by a rock in my old helmet).  I got it lightly used for really cheap so that made me very happy about it, in general.

I read somewhere recently Shark only have 2 shell sizes though, so if you're between sizes the one that fits might seem huge.  I think that might be the case for me, as this helmet seems much larger than my old one.

i used the RSI and returned it and tried the RSR2, its my favorite helmet.....for everything but commuting.

It has very soft material, but because i have high cheek bones, this helmet tends to really rub your cheeks due to its design. it doesnt lok like normal helmets that  are curvy. The front is litteraly flat.

The sheilds are insanely expensive. ($70!!!) but well worth it for the extra mm!!! My visor is completely trashed and ive yet to replace it because it has become my commuter helmet. For my road trip im taking my EXO-700. its more comfortable for the long haul. but damn is the rsr2 light weight!!

Those are completely sold out at the distributor.  At this time we cannot get those pads for you.

Anyone else know somewheres that might carry/order them?

I dont think theres much you can do then. If SBTG who is probably the largest seller of Shark products, doesnt have it, i doubt anyone else will.

Its kinda why i wont buy another visor for my helmet. $70 bucks? I rather just buy another helmet.

Try overseas...fc-moto.de in Germany, or a shop in the UK.  I've purchased a few visors and such from the UK, but I can't remember the shop.  Lemme search...

sportbikeshop.co.uk

...great prices/service.

no luck there either.

So, on a whim I sent Shark France an email directly.  I received a reply saying basically, "what's your mailing address and we'll send them to you."

never asked for any form of payment.

I'll update if/when they arrive.
