Well, thanks to Scott she's home and resting comfortably in the garage. I still have to do some maneuvering to figure out how the car and the bike will fit, but that comes when it's not 100 degrees outside.
The first mod has occurred, as well! I pulled off those ugly reflectors on the forks and peeled off the AMS sticker. [thumbsup]
I took some quick snaps. Don't expect 'em to be great, but this is her in the middle of where the Z usually sits. Thanks to Bryant for the quick refresh button on his Craigslist page, and Scott (again) for his moving services.
Once I cool off and get a beer in me tonight I'll try to figure out a meet for next week where everyone can see it.
Enjoy!

p.s. what was wrong with the 180mph SS800?
Yes, beer soon. I'll try to organize something for next week...possibly as early as Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned.
Also
- I owe Bryant a round or two or dinner for his finder's fee.
- I owe Scott and Steph a dinner for his help since I forgot my wallet at home for his "thank you" lunch today. D'OH!!
[bang]
Life is GOOD [thumbsup]

I'm up for that.
IP - Congratulatios on the new bike. You have the mil-spec "I got my new Ducati" grin. [thumbsup]
Can't wait to see it. I love the SCs.
The seller, Tom, lives one exit past LYD. Tom & his wife also have an S4RS. I think he wants to move up to a 1098.
BTW, IP, did you email the forum address? http://ducatimonsterforum.org/

I did, I shot him the general URL and the specific one for all us DFW crazies.
Sunday's sort of a wait and see thing. It's father's day and I'm trying to figure out what pops wants to do. I may end up taking him out to lunch. We also have an invite from friends to go see a minor league baseball game. So, we'll have to see how it all goes. But yeah, if I'm free, Dubliner it is. [thumbsup]
Well, get back from a week in Santa Fe and look what has happened! [clap] Thank God it's in the fastest SC1000 color! [thumbsup] Now Jim, you and I can fly in formation! Congrats and them some bro'!!! [moto]

Welcome to the board, Tommy!
If you haven't already, be sure to start a new thread to introduce yourself. That way, everyone can get to know you and your bikes.

Minor Threadjack: It was hot and windy... but it was a dry hot wind. Pushing 90 every day and not cooling down at night as much as it should. Kinda of a bummer in that respect. Wanted to feel a chill one more time before the blast furnace of summer hits... and no, standing in front of the 'frig getting a beer doesn't count as "chill". Jen's never been so I got a kick out of showing her around. Lots of flame throwing red and green chile SW-mex food. I think my bowels will recover by week's end. [laugh] Was forced to drink margs and watch the sun go down on top of the La Fonda Hotel. Took the high road to Taos... a rented VW Jetta just didn't hack it, never stopped thinking about cornering lines on a bike. [moto] Jen liked the shopping, if I close my eyes all I see is turquoise and silver jewelry and paintings of sad looking Indians. I have never seen so many road side memorial markers in my life! There was one every mile or less! Guess that explains the non-stop "don't drink and drive" PSA spots on TV and on billboards. May also explain why NM leads the country in child deaths by auto accident. :P The count was up 55% over last year. Guess they don't believe in car seats or seatbelts... suppose being shitfaced behind the wheel has something to do with that. >:(

Sound like a great trip! I'm predicting a NM journey in my very near future...
The restaurant at La Fonda is really nice, but we've never stayed in the hotel.
Did you guys see the miracle staircase?
Yep, love the food, weather scenerey, and ROADS!
We should plan a week-long Taos run, maybe leave on a Saturday morning, return the following Saturday.

Was a good get away for sure. Warm, windy weather certainly didn't spoil the trip. Never stayed at La Fonda either but the margs on the roof bar at sundown are legendary... always a good crowd. Actually, never have eaten at La Fonda either. Almost did on one of the marg/roof/sundown nights but chose to eat elsewhere. Yep, had to do the miracle staircase and the whole cathedral thing... Jen being the good Catholic girl she is had to take it all in. Along with the Taos high road trip we also buzzed (OK, puttered in the VW renter...) up to the Santa Fe ski lifts... killer road!!! Would pay HUGE money to go up and down that twisty SOB on a Hypermotard!!! And for Will's entertainment (our resident cyclist [thumbsup]) we followed a group of mountain bike riders back down the road from the top. I kept my distance and just shadowed them in the car. Those guys were f#@king hauling ass!! No shit, I bet they could have beaten half of us on our Ducatis... no offense, but those guys knew that road really well and had huge nads!! Hell, it was all I could do to keep them in sight and not scare the shit out of Jen. She's not big on two lane roads, curves or mountain sides. :P What's wrong with her?? Amazing downhill run!! All on m-bike knobbies too!! When they pulled off at their cars at the bottom of the road I had to slow down to honk, wave and give them a thumbs up... Jen thought I was being my usual dork self but they deserved the applause!
OK, end of thread jack #2! [laugh]

Well, more people = less cost, so money becomes less of a factor...
Congrats, Ryan!
You've got GREAT TASTE! [thumbsup]
