Beautiful 80 some degrees last Sun. This Sunday, mid 40's and strong wind. Yuck
Yesterday it snowed and sleeted most of the day. Today its sunny but high winds and it doesn't look like there is much hope here in the near future either. I'm pretty bummed. The one really nice morning for riding resulted in tornados within 4 miles of the house and a fair amount of damage in the area. I've already been in two tornados and hit by lightning so I feel that I've had my quota of bad weather.
I wanna move to New Mexico
As I get older, I have less patience for crappy weather. It seems as though each year there is less and less good weather for riding. If the economy in Arizona or Nevada would support skilled labor, I'd be out of here.
My buddy has a 1000 acre place for sale in New Mexico - the problem is you have to drive 150 miles to find a road with a curve in it.
I have a half acre about 25 miles south of Albuquerque, bought it on ebay 10 years ago for $50. Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice.
We've always liked the Albuquerque area, not the city but the area around. Lots of nice roads for riding.
They are talking about 8 to 10 inches of snow here again today - this truly sucks. I want to be riding and paddling my kayak - not shoveling snow.
I couldn't agree more. Maybe later in the week. I hope.
12 days till the Slimy Crud Run - hope the weather straightens out by then. I'd sure like to have a couple hundred more miles under my belt before taking in that 350 mile spin.
Just had a freakin snow plow drive by the house. SOB. Well I dont feel so bad, cuz the bike is still in pieces
Tomorrow, cold but sunny. Time to ride.
Got about 10" of snow here - got up at 2:00AM to shovel the driveway so my wife could get in the driveway after work. She put the Jeep in the ditch and got pulled out by one of her coworkers. She went back into town and slept in the Jeep untlil the plows came by. Then she still had to shovel the mouth of the driveway out where the plow had pushed the snow back in. They are talking more snow here Friday and 50's for the weekend. Maybe it will be melted enough for a spin Saturday.
Where the heck is "here"... In WI??? That sounds miserable, glad the wife got home ok.
Here is about 25 miles West of Oshkosh. We got cranked pretty hard the last couple of weeks with tornados and blizzards. Pretty soon I'll be belly aching about the mosquitoes.
Snuck in a quick 94 mile spin this morning - was pretty darn cold and stiff afterwards.
Zipped from MSN to MKE and back today for Easter dinner. A little chilly, but worth it. [thumbsup]
Monday morning and the sun is out. I'm blinded.
Looks like bright lights in the sky won't be a problem for most of the rest of the week. I squeezed in a quick 50 miles this afternoon - probably be all for a while. Hopefully its decent Sunday for the SCR.
Back to the Monsoons here.
Spring 2011, two word review......shit spring. You can't print that.
I literally had wood ducks mating in my front yard this morning. ???
Astounding - we actually strung two weekend days together with decent riding weather - hopefully everyone got out and worked on their chicken strips a bit! I got about 140 miles in, rode some new roads, missed some deer, avoided some gravel, went fast, had a great time!

I did this again, today. Just replace "Easter" with "Mother's Day"! [moto]
another beautiful day, eh? :P
I couldn't get out yesterday while it was nice, today is a washout, maybe tomorrow morning before the thunderstorms roll back in. My buddy from PA will arrive here this coming weekend for a couple of weeks of riding with his Norton Commando - hopefully the weather straightens up by then.
Got in a beautiful 150 mile spin this morning before the golfball size hail ripped through here. I heard Redgranite (about 10 miles SW from me) got softball size hail - that starts wrecking stuff.
