Title: New from northern VA
Post by: KTMracerx009 on May 05, 2011, 07:08:24 AM
Hi my name is Aaron, I'm from VA

I have ridden/ raced dirt bikes for about 16 years. I have a cr 250 and a ktm 400
As far as motorcycles I had a ninja 500 but sold it before I left for basic. I'm looking for a monster 800

Welcome!

You should join the crazyness in the CAM forum on this site. That's where most of the MD/VA guys BS. Good luck with the bike search!

Military eh? I'm at Meade. You at Quantico or A.P. Hill?

Don't forget Ft Meyer.

I'm one of those aforementioned CAM members - and CAM can be found here:
http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?www;board=20. (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?www;board=20.)

There's a pretty good amount of goings on in CAM. And we've got folks who are constantly buzzing the sale adds, Craigslist etc. So hop in and let folks know what you're looking for. They always enjoy spending someone else cash.

Welcome.

I've got a yellow S2R 800.  Not that I would want someone scooting around on one of the same color but there is one on sale via Craigslist.  Also check out the for Sale section, feel like there are a couple there too.

Happy hunting!

The S2R has a single sided swingarm for one - maybe other differences too, but that's the big one.

Welcome, I'm also in NoVA and do everything off road (desert, dual sport, hare scrambles, MX, Trials and on rare occasion a bit of flat track).

Mostly I go to colorado or baja now - the east coast sucks for dirt riding.  When I'm desperate for a local fix I go to GW Natl Forrest or race a D7 HS or MX event, ride a NVTR event or a VCHSS race.  This season I'm trying out trials riding.  I just did the AMA D6 trials competition in PA, it was huge fun and a nice change of pace from the usual hare scrambles.  There are also a few local private riding areas.

For the gas to drive to/from WV I can fly to/from Colorado and I keep a bike there for just such a purpose, though sooner or later I'll make the treck out to WV to check it out I suppose [evil]

BTW do you mean trail riding or trials riding?

Wv is an amazing place they have a huge amount of trails and if you want a challenge try riding the dirt bike only trails

I mean trails, I have never tried trials
