After 3+ months from my small little "incident" my bike is pretty much ready! They are just waiting on Rizoma mirrors and have been for ages now. Im going to pick it up with the old mirrors and they are going to post the mirrors to me.
BUT!!
A week after my "incident" rego was due....... its been over 3 months and i asked them to pink slip it before it ran out but they forgot.... SO it needs a blue slip..... and what do you know, i cant find my papers (not sure if i gave them to the mechanic)..... they are saying it may or may not pass as they need to get it done somewhere else.... hopefully all will be good and i dont have to go through the task of finding pipes, indicators, mirrors etc etc.
I just want my little baby back...
missed you all and cant wait to get back in the saddle!
p.s. Matty if you read this can you pm me your number please
Cricky cakeman your just having the worst run of luck with baby blue :(
hope you get it together soon .........how about by tomorrow for the Old road ;D
She'll be right mate... was hoping to get her today but its going to be Monday at the earliest.. I might make the trip out their today anyway and admire her beauty
Looks like I spoke too soon. Went to have a look at it and it's going to be 2 more weeks :(
Holy crap, I would have taken a cheque and started again after 3 months you could of had a bike blinged to the hilt in that time.
Hope it comes back shortly-ish, but then I see it's been raining like crazy in the last couple of weeks.

In my experience with blue slips, they want to make certain that the numbers on the frame and engine are spot on, I got questioned about the carbon cans, but I told them that's how the bike came (which was true) then a cursory look at lights blinkers etc and that was it.
I think you will definitely need those rego papers though.
Mmick

That wouldn't have helped by itself, because a pink slip expires after 42 days, then you have to get another one. How did I learn this ? um well, the Hard Way.
I got my pink slip early cause the mobile mechanic was over anyway servicing the car then I sort of forgot [roll] to actually rego the bike untill a kindly H'way Patrol did a random rego check, expired by one day [bang] $516 and he said I was lucky, he could have done me for $1548 (riding unregistered, not paying road tax,not insured, $516 each offence)
Then I found my pink slip had expired and had to pay another $20.
I think if anyone was in your situation they should get a pink slip from the repairer and rego the bike within the three months, if the repairer will issue it while the bike is still under repair.
Three months to fix? Are you ok with that? I would be pissed, that seems way too long to me!
Andrew.........I had to get my Monster blue slipped when i transferred the rego......they tend to bypass exhausts and like mmick wrote, the main concern is that all numbers on the bike match with rego papers...ie.. not a re-birth or stolen .....I do know a guy who could check it over........and he had no idea re noise or no cat.......just wanted to make sure it was legit.....
As for the rego papers missiing.......all that is needed is a visit to your local RTA, plus your drivers/riders licence for proof of identity....
Brian
i can vouch for a similar experience with blue slips..
when i had mine done, he checked all the lights and numbers then asked me to start it, i did as quietly as i possibly could and then he reached out and gave it a rev, looked at me and then just walked off!! i simply thought "DAMN IT". to my surprise he came back with the blue slip. showed me that he had marked it as a fail and then a pass as he believed if he sent me home id just put on the std pipes and be back within the hr anyway. ;D
It finaly arrived today. They trailed it back to mine and the poor baby was filthy, still full of dirt and muck from the accident. I asked the fella dropping it off if he had the paperwork for the blie slip that they were supposed to do and henew nothing. I called them and they FORGOT to do it.
Managed to just takeit upthe road before closing to the local mehcanic who likes bikes to get one. All i need to do is get it registered (hopefully tommorow), drop in to D-Moto tommorow as well if possible and hopefully head out this weekend!
A long mission is coming to an end! Cant wait!
I can't beleive they didn't clean the bike for you. They obviously are not interested in return customers. I would be letting your insurance company know about the poor service.

ohhhhh 2 day oxley trip..... your bumb is going to be in a world of pain............... again
Yeah I'd have to say that if my bike was delivered back to me after three months away being fixed and it was still filthy from the crash I'd be sending a "rocket" up the repairer and the insurance company.
That is just plan poor service and the fact you've waited three months makes it worse IMO.

Your exactly right Matty. I gave the insrance company a call and let them know. Years a go i would have fought it until i popped a blood vessel in my eye. I can call them, let them know , rant on etc but really no one cares. Its unfortunate but good service went out the door year ago.
The response from the insurer was the standard "we are really sorry and ill pass it on to management" pfft!
