Just wanted to say Hello!
I had no riding experience prior to two years ago. I took the MSF class one weekend, got my endorsement on Monday and stopped in the Ducati place on my way home. I knew nothing about bikes. I liked the looks of the Monster 696 and liked the way it sounded. I didn't even take it for a test ride because I was afraid! I bought it and had someone ride it home for me. 11,400 miles and almost two years later I went back to the Ducati dealer to purchase a Pit Bull. That day I came home with the Monster 1100S!!!! I LOVE IT! Now looking at doing some track days!

As in a stand? I've definitely come home with more than planned when I've hit the moto shop, but haven't had a bike follow me home yet
I was just down in your neck of the woods (ish)... well NC that is for Cornerspin. It's in Salisbury, give it a look up. It's the school that also does Cornerspeed at VIR. But Cornerspin you ride their bikes which you get to beat on and do some solid learning, without the fear of binning your own bike.
So, I guess I have to be the rules enforcer and let you know that no bike exists w/o pix. So you'll have to show the 1100 ;D
Yes, I went for a stand and came home with a new bike! I am putting Rizoma rearsets on and was going to wait to post a picture until I got them on! However, I will post one tonight after work and my ride ;D I am wanting to do a school and a track day or two this summer.
Thanks for the warm welcomes!
Lexi

OK, someone is going to have to tell me how to post a picture on here. : ???
You need to have the photo hosted some place like image shack, flickr or other similar service.
With it hosted, copy the path, click the 'insert image' button above and then paste the path between the tags that were inserted when you clicked the 'insert image' button.
Thanks! I will have to play with that until I am sure I know what I am doing. Got the Rizoma rearsets on and would love to post a picture. I am now thinking about clutch covers........ideas and advice would be appreciated. I am learning. I put my rearsets on with the help of a friend. He told me it should take about an hour, it took me 4 :-[ But damn it, I did it! I also put my carbon fiber tire hugger on, this one only took about five minutes once I had the ducati tire tool ;) Anyway, now I am on to wanting to change out the clutch cover.......advice please :-\
Welcome to the forum.
For clutch options - toss a question in the accessories and mods section. You will get tons of advice. Just be ready for the opinions. The 696 and 796 riders have threads in the mods section, maybe the 1100s do as well.
Thanks again. I am riding....4000 miles in 3.5 months.......just learning the other stuff as I go. :)
