I rode the Crest with Duc Stew this morning and yes he was riding his new Sporty. I must admit that he's the fastest Harley guy I ever got stuck behind. (he was trying to grind off his curb-feelers)
But surely Stew on a Harley must be a sign that the apocalypse is near.
Following a veteran rider like Den-bike down the Angeles Crest Highway was a lot of fun. 2nd only to having him follow me down!
Stupid curb-feelers are too low but I'm at the shop now and will be remedying that in like 15 minutes. 250 miles on the bike since 1pm yesterday (when I rode out of the dealership) and so far... I really like this machine! [thumbsup]

Uh oh, the first modifications. So this is how it starts, you grind a little feeler, then before you know it ape-hangers, fish-tail mufflers and sissy bar, chrome oil drain plug...then you need more chrome and more chrome on that.
Yep, I've been there too. I remember going back to the Harley dealer after I installed a turbo charger and they thought I was nuts. Then I kept asking them things like, could I get 17" wheels, radial tires, a steering stabilizer, and swap the running boards for rear sets. That's when they pointed me towards the Buell.
Now all ya need is some side bags Stew. ;D
Glad to hear your new wheels are fun. [thumbsup]
After having my 620 for 18 months the GLW still won't venture out with me.
So this would be the only H.D. I'd consider, that just might get her out with me.
Keen to see what you do with it Stew, could even become my 2nd bike instead of an 848/749s
Enjoy it, but not too much...
cheers
Matty...
Now we need pictures of Stu on the new bike! ;D

No no no no no! This is _FlightCycles!_
I wanna see Ohlins front and rear, carbon ceramic rotors with radial mount monoblock calipers, lightweight carbon fibre fenders, a full titanium spaghetti system, high comp pistons and flowed heads, lightweight (17 inch) wheels with super sticky rubber (and not too wide at the rear!), pod filters, Power Commander III complete with quick shifter and multi stage rev limiter.
When you've got _that_ little lot sorted you can start to think about bling, Stew!
;-)
big
I want to see this engine in that bike by the end of the summer.

Now get to work Hog Stew.
I read about that one, EVO lower Ducati heads.
Stew's riding a XL ( 4 cam shafts ) tranny in the same case.
Den sent me a picture to post. Nice bikes! [thumbsup] [moto]

He can still adapt the heads to a Sporty engine and Stew is not a tranny in any case.
I like the way those Nightsters look and took a test drive on one last Saturday. My random thoughts:
- Best-looking stock Harley I've ever seen
- Fuel injection mapping is very good
- Brakes are weak
- Suspension could use some work
- I like having a tach, but with so much torque I guess it isn't necessary; the speedo gauge is attractive, though
- Vibration at idle is crazy
- Hello, curb feelers! I found them on the first turn out of the parking lot
- Suddenly, every Harley on the road waves to me--and I snub them
