there's a second video which includes onboard video from my bike, it seems to have gotten make the beast with two backsed up as it was uploading so I'll have to upload it again, ducpainter on his SS passes me on the straight on this one.
Michelle, you are much too modest. Good work!
nice clip.. thanks for sharing! [thumbsup]
[thumbsup]
cool vid. I would be nervous riding a D16 :o
Cool pics, how's that SV treating you?

the suspension was all upgraded (as I think you know) with gixxer forks , R1 brakes and a rear spring from a busa. The suspension and handling was AWESOME! The power delivery is much smoother than my monster, BUT... where is the torque??? wow I was disappointed, I couldn't get the same drive out of corners I'm used to with the monster, which made it difficult passing people coming out of corners. It acts more like a I-4.
Wow! Great vids!
Great vids IG!
Question - did you use the same camera for both the stills and the video? If so, what kind of camera did you use?
great work!
gotta love a little love & rockets [thumbsup] [moto]
just watched the second video... lookin' good grrrrl!
i like the ending :)

I used the gopro Hero camera (same you have I believe) for onboard. I just need a second camera now for Terry. Either the same or a lipstick as I already have a small camcorder.
The photos were mostly taken by Alanna (the pres' daughter) she's a great photographer and gets better shots than the pro at the track!!!
and better yet FREE!!! lol here's a link to the desmo page with all the links to people's albums/ collection from the trackday http://desmoducati.org/trackday2008recap.html (http://desmoducati.org/trackday2008recap.html)

For what?! Apparently Cru can't keep up with me, that's why you can barely see me in the videos!

:'( You cut me like a hot knife through butter. [laugh] In all honesty, I didn't know that I had to ride like Pakhan to get a decent video. ;D
Next video will be better. Just don't go off-roading in front of me.

I gotta bring this back and make a few comments
- I think Michelle is waaaaay modest. She did some awesome work and I can't wait for the next ones!
- Also that was only her second time on the bike and the first was only for a few blocks in the city. Once she gets the hang of it I think she can pass bigger bikes no problem.
- I think Michelle got a bit short changed in terms of riding, but she did awesome with what she had.
- I think a second day would have really been awesome. If you're gonna drive that damn far, it's worth it.
- That camera is great, we just have to find a better (read more isolated) mounting setup so that it doesn't buzz at higher RPM's.
-The end of the second video (http://www.no1special.com/temp/DESMO-part2/DESMO-part2.html) is one of my favorite parts. But for some reason the one Michelle posted wasn't getting to the very end for me.
That SV is damn sweet, just gotta run the snot out of it... oh and it's a busa shock with a 636's rear spring.
I didn't notice too much vibration, but if you want ideas, the guys in the OZ section had a good camera mount. He has an S*R and mounted the cam on the radiator cap. Was vibrating like crazy but he found a way to stabilize it.

I don't think the camera was vibrating so much as when the bike was revving high it was almost like interference with the recording, the sound and video was effected. It was only for a short time during one of the recorded sessions.
nice videos and editing! were you using the suction cup mount or one of the sticky ones?
i used the same camera and had it stuck to the top of the triple, backed up with some safety wire. tried it suctioned to the tach before, but it seems to vibrate more since the tach is plugged into some rubber grommets rather than being hard-mounted.
I screwed in a RAM ball one of the plastic mounts for the camera and then mounted it to the left mirror mount.

I would prefer to mount it lower on the bike... (so I look like I'm going faster [laugh])....
any way to remove the headlights and use those mounting points? should be steadier than the handlebar (and lower).
