Saw this on another forum, and I thought it was a neat idea.
1) A poster indicates the item to be "found".
2)Then someone sees the item while riding, stops and gets a picture WITH THE BIKE AND OBJECT, posts it, and names the NEXT item to be found.
repeat! Sound like something we'd keep going? If so, then.....
Fighter Jet....maybe thats too hard....alternatively, a pro-sports stadium.
dont be a pussy. fighter jet it is!!!!
does it have to be a real one? museum? replica? Cause i am going to an airshow this weekend. [evil]

I wouldn't say it was too hard at all.
But I do like your idea of a pro sports stadium, so let's go ahead and use that for round two.
make the beast with two backs the jet, more pics of your bike!! i like the color scheme!!!
More pics HERE (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=205.msg880524#msg880524).
But seriously, I always liked the scavenger hunt/tag-o-rama threads on ADVRider. Let's try to keep this going! Sports stadium!

Damn! I was going to say pic in front of accident this morning. Of course, just witnessed one.I. Am sitting I in front right now.

25 years old or better-Thats how classic plates work in my state.

My wife used to work at the UM help desk for the server. I believe it was PeopleSoft? She worked across the street from the stadium. [thumbsup] I had a DR350 when I was there so I didn't see too much of the roads you mentioned. Not much off road either.
Anyway, in regards to the earlier post and the accident I witnessed earlier today. The cop who took the accident report told me he rode an ST4 and had a 1098 in the past. He asked if I was on Ducati MS and said it was always good to meet fellow Ducatisti. Nice! [thumbsup]
BTW.. I did get a pic of the accident with the Duc. ;)
Everybody wait a few months before requesting a picture next to an accident. Iz should have forgotten about it by then. Not that we would be able to recognize what's the subject of an Iz picture (pizture?) [cheeky].

There was a Ferarri California parked a couple cars up. Almost wanted to do a two fer but decided I would give others a chance. I am sure these will get more difficult.
I'm going to have to get in on this, because i've got a pretty difficult one. ;D
The Ferrari wasn't there today. [bang]
I did happen to see a Porsche in a parking lot though. Unfortunately I don't know enough about them to know if this one is considered Top End.
Give it a thumbs up and I will provide the next search item for the hunt. Give it a thumbs down and the hunt continues for a proper supercar.

Next item up for the hunt: rock crawler
And I don't mean the insect but an extreme 4x4 vehicle. If you don't know - Rock crawling is an extreme form of off road driving using vehicles anywhere from stock to highly modified to overcome obstacles. I would like to see a highly modified rather than stock vehicle for this.
Good hunting.
Good GOD [clap] but HERE WE GO - Rock Crawler is it
Just missed the Monster truck kiddie touch at UMD. But I shall find one even if I don't find it first. Headed to PA this weekend. Sure to be some out there...
Well, my Bronco is set up more for mud, but it'll crawl some rocks as well. Not super radical, but definitely not stock. I'll let Mojo be the judge ;)
That's some beast you have there and I really like the picture of it next to the Monster. Looking at the suspension it's not really setup for rock crawling and you called it a mudder yourself. But hell, It's more of a rock crawler than anything I have as my 4x4 is fully stock (wife's actually, but hey I get to drive it ;D). So I say [thumbsup].

Actually, that's worse than roadkill.
How about your Duc with a duck?
Hey IZ, didn't you take a picture of your bike next to an accident. Was the vehicle totalled? Type of roadkill right?
I saw a couple of dead squirrels on the road today but not in a spot where I could park the bike and take a picture. Dang it!
My goal for tomorrow is to head down to a pond and get a pic of a Duc, duck and a goose.
Was finally in Pa where I saw a deer but boy was it stinky. A duck and a Duc it is...

No roadkill in that accident. The woman in the white car..facing my direction..pulled out of an apt complex right in front of that car you see in the distance. Her car was smashed on the drivers side and she was confused a bit. That was the first time I ever got a wif of deployed airbags. Not a pleasant scent.

And for what it's worth, I recall seeing signs like that every couple of dozen miles on my way from DC to Ohiopyle, PA when I was headed out there to kayak the Yough - in a little four-cylinder RAV4 with three or four kayaks on top, you say a little prayer of thanks for getting up & over every little 900 foot "mountain pass" so I tended to notice things like that. Nope--Tail of the Dragon. But the area around Nellysford looks like some good riding--at least on the map. Any suggestions as I live in Yorktown and it would be reachable for a (long) day trip.
Ah, Nellysford -- my bike racing team used to do spring training camps down there (well, they still do but I've since moved to Arizona), so I have a love/hate recollection of a lot of the steep, twisty climbs around there. A great base of operations would be The Acorn Inn there http://www.acorninn.com/ (http://www.acorninn.com/) -- tell Martin & Kathy that Brad DeVries sent you. For moto roads, our big-loop training course would be good: the previously mentioned Brent's Gap would be a good start; up and over it on 151 I remember as twisty on both sides (and looked a lot like your Deals photo, which isn't a bad thing!), country roads that hook up to the west with the Blue Ridge Parkway, then north on the BRP to Reed's Gap, and a crazy, twisty descent down to the valley floor. Lots of other cool back roads to the East of the Acorn Inn as well. I'll see if I can get some of my friends to send me the route maps from spring training as ideas.
end threadjack; we now return you to your regularly scheduled scavenger hunt.

I hear ya! Too hot this weekend in NYC...100 degrees with 70% humidity so I stayed in doors most weekend.
This should be easy; there's a crumbling early 20th century railroad trestle two blocks from my house with an ever-changing canvas of surprisingly well-executed graffiti - but for one catch. I sold my only working motorcycle (the Monster) a week ago, and so would have to push the ST2 all the way there and back. If this current scavenger challenge ends up lasting until my new stator & battery come in & I get around to getting the thing back on the road, then I'll be mighty disappointed in you folks. ;D

Wouldnt you know, two days of nothing, then some random guy parks next to me in a late 60's Ford and you beat me to it. CRAP.
I was out joyriding with a camera in my pocket and saw this in a parking lot. I pulled over for this thread. I was shocked that I got to participate.

No worries. Was funny though, to have that guy park right next to me and that was the topic.
If a candy shop is too difficult, an independent toy store would be just fine.

Unfortunately the "Fort Collins Police Dept" sign is on the side of the building around the corner, so you're all gonna have to take my word for it.
It's under the overhang you can see projecting from the stairwell tower.
Just in case anyone doesn't believe Buckethead....

Quote from: avizpls on May 23, 2011, 11:14:17 AM
Saw this on another forum, and I thought it was a neat idea.
1) A poster indicates the item to be "found".
2)Then someone sees the item while riding, stops and gets a picture WITH THE BIKE AND OBJECT, posts it, and names the NEXT item to be found.
repeat! Sound like something we'd keep going? If so, then.....
Fighter Jet....maybe thats too hard....alternatively, a pro-sports stadium.
Doesn't say Ducs-Only... but I think to qualify, it should definitely be on of the poster's personal bikes (if he has more than one, that is). I think as the DMF, a monster would be preferred... but we're a friendly bunch here right?
I mean, if it's a photo of ANY bike near a stadium or fighter jet... hell, that's what google is for.

God, that was the easiest one yet, but that bike still only half on the pavement/concrete/ whatever surface is handy since it's on a rearstand!

I'm not sure if this is gonna count. First its my dad's bike (mine is still getting its finishing touches) and the bar is mine (not to tuff to pull off). If it is deemed OK then lets see a your duc at a bikini car/bike wash.

Does it have to be a truck (assuming pickup)? I can easily find a car that is 8 inches or more taller than stock. I think it is called "donk."
Even though the ridiculousness of those cars is kinda amusing to me lets stick with some kind of lifted "mud/sand" truck.

I don't know for sure if that is 8 inches of lift, but it is pretty damn tall.
If this fits the bill, I want to see your Duc next to a lowrider... lead sled to import, the year is unimportant but I would prefer it to be the kind with bags or hydraulics. Bonus points for for car tires off the ground [evil]

So there we are. As close to a full set as maybe anybody can muster I hope ;D
Sadly, I don't have a lowrider picture. Although the yellow Ultima GTR is pretty low.
^^nice pics, wrong thread, but nice pics.

+1
You're in SoCal, this should be cake for you!
Find a lowrider, snap pic, then pick something else for us to go find. (supercars for sure don't count)
Note to self: low riders don't exist anymore :(
Let's get this thing moving... your Duc at a motorcycle rally/meeting/gathering from this month (August). Bonus points if my Duc is there too.
Theres a reallllllly lowered ranger here that ive seen a few times.... would that do for you guys? I would still have to track him down to take the pic though...
Sure would! While a "classic" style with wire wheels, the wrong size tires, and a mural on the trunk would make me happiest, anything that has been modified to be inappropriately close to the ground will work. ;D

Next up your Monster next to a large construction vehicle (i.e.: big dozer, crane, tractor, etc).

Next up: Your bike with an icicle in the background.
Since it's a hot summer that might be hard, so alternatively, your bike with a twin (meaning exact same model/displacement/color and no obviously different mods).
nicely done [clap] what's next?
You know, someone i ride with has a 695 with the same color scheme.... it looks like a "little brother" to mine. I was contemplating making an icycle in the freezer and going from there! Ha!

Sexy girl on bike. It was when I first bought it (the bike, not the girl) before I put a headlight fairing on it.

Ok, it's been almost a year since the last challenge I think it's safe to assume no one will get it, so here's a new one.
Your bike with an athlete. The athlete must be wearing their uniform, whatever that is.

Apparently this thread has been lost a long time ago... ive been really wanting to pick it back up! Whos with me?? Either someone get an athlete on theyre bike or have justinrhenry change the requirement! [thumbsup]
Does it have to be a live athlete?

I'll go with no.
We've allowed a bit of leeway in long-running requirements in the past.
Not trying to pick nits - but do we want to see a dead athlete on your bike ;)
He did not say professional athlete. I play this game on the other forum once in a while. It's kinda fun ( :
yeah, doesn't have to be a professional athlete. find a freaking jogger!!! :D

Dead joggers are easier to catch ;D But harder to prop up on bike [roll]
Holy good gracious has it seriously been THIS long since ANYONE has played the scavenger hunt? Anyone interested in kicking it back into high gear?? Lets get riding people!!! GAME ON!!!!
Wow, this is an old one.
How's this work again?
Rules are easy.... you post a picture of the previous requirement.... the most recent being your bike with an athelete. Notice it didnt say professional so it should be easy. Then when you fulfill that you choose the next topic. Personally i like to give an alternate as well to keep this thread from dying like it has many times before.
I'd play. Somebody get the athlete one first though, quick!

From last night. I didn't take the picture but my bike is somewhere in the middle.
Next: your bike next to an athlete! lol. Living or dead, pro or not pro, hell even a statue is OK. ;D or an icicle [evil]
You would.... ALRIGHT FINE!!! Lol.
