Am a little long in the tooth to be a monster rider, currently 50. Was a big Buell fan for a while owning a 2000 S3T and a 2001 M2 Cyclone. Loved the Buells but got tired of the maintenance. Owned a 2006 Honda VFR and a 2004 BMW R1150R. Both of those bikes were tools with no personality. Bought a 2001 Ducati ST4 which I absolutely love. Loved it so much that I decided to buy a 2002 S4 monster, very similar to my ST4. I believe I am now a Ducatista for life. Also my 24 year old son rides a 695 monster and my 21 year old son rides a 750 monster. It's kind of a family affair now.
A great bike history, welcome!
I'm with you as for as the rather bland feel of the four cylinder and boxer-powered machines. There's just something about a single-pin v2 that's just right ;D
So pilot kinda failed to mention CAM - even though he's a part.. ahem. CAM is local area section for yah:

Though it's mostly centered around DC, there are folks down your way - and there's a rolling Hapton roads thread that you might pop into.
Welcome.
err, umm, I figured Norfolk wasn't Capital Area [roll]
Umm, if you're tired of the maintenance on a buell, wait until you do the valves on the s4! all joking aside, welcome!
I'll be in Norfolk in a couple of months if you wanna meet up and chat.
