Go Nicky. I would really like to see him start beating his team mate. Although as an Australian I have an alliegance to Stoner, but Nicky has always been a favorite of mine. I've said it before, he'd make a great son in law. 8)

I hope people are starting to really appreciate what Casey has achieved on that bike.

Casey didn't care if he crashed. Rossi does. That's really the difference between the two in my opinion and why Stoner took that bike to another level.... when he wasn't crashing it. Casey's raw speed is the fastest of anyone anyway, outside of maybe a healthy Pedro. His issues have never been speed. Just consistancy and the bike.
I didn't get to watch the FP's yet but I'm happy to see Hayden up there
Apparently the conditions were less than desirable
FP1 was dry, FP2 started out wet and didn't get fully dry.
FP1 Rossi was tiptoeing around with Abraham for about 8 laps. :P
Stoner is kickin' ass and takin' names.
I am just glad Edwards is out there turning laps...I think it speaks volumes to the Pedrobot and Puig...
Just had Stoner 1st place now and save the gas. :(
Let Randy-DP ride his bike into a concrete wall (jump off first of course) and save the gas. :(
You know what, just use the last two race results for this week. Think of all that gas and tires they'll save! How many more riders and teams can they get to join when expenses are cut down?
Just trying to say the last few races have been boring. :(
Moto2 and different case..............
The Stoner train chugs on....
What was up with Rossi so far this weekend?
I had to watch the FP's and QP with the sound off...
...My son feel asleep watching Stoner spank the world
Somebody wake me up when the WSBK races in Misano start. ;D Some how it doesn't surprise me to see Edwards 8th on the grid. [thumbsup] Hell, if they had let him he was ready to start last weekend's race and put in two laps then pull out. Tough SOB! One day after collarbone surgery! A paddock rumor (trying to recall where I saw it) that he gave them until Mugello to sort the bike and make it competitive. He's under contract, so it's hard to see how he could do anything but make empty threats. But still...
On another note, Stoner's showing his douchebag side again:
http://moto-racing.speedtv.com/article/motogp-stoner-questions-haydens-effort/ (http://moto-racing.speedtv.com/article/motogp-stoner-questions-haydens-effort/)
QuoteEarlier on qualifying day in the final free practice session Stoner and Hayden came across each other on the track with Stoner making an angry hand signal to Hayden. Stoner later claimed that his former teammate Hayden had balked him unnecessarily as he was on a fast lap.
"I had to pick up and back off and get going again," Stoner said. "It is frustrating as hell. I could understand if he accidentally got in my way but that was blatantly on purpose and that frustrated me a fair bit coming from a rider like Nicky, who I had a fair bit of respect for, so it's disappointing."

I'm been thinking of Casey as a whingeing POM more and more lately.
But seriously though, Casey will look back and greatly regret that outburst against such a gentleman of the sport. The lad sure has a temper.
Iike I didn't at that age...
Thing is, you don't want to hurt your credibility.
Like him or not Nicky is a good stand up kid who always takes responsibility for his performance and actions. He is not one to be throwing stones at. I'm not sure of the exact on track action Stoner is referring to but IF Nicky was at fault I'm sure he would be the first to man up and say he was wrong and apologize. Who on the grid doesn't like Hayden? Stoner should be careful, I know Vale likes Nicky a lot and he might just give Stoner a smack down for pissing and moaning about his new teammate. [laugh] Is it just me or does Stoner ever stop pissing and moaning? Track skills aside he's a whiner!
By the way, you could do a lot worse than having Nicky as a son in law! [thumbsup] [clap] [popcorn]

therein lies the difference really you said it. but it comes down to one thing.
YOUTH. Stoner still has it and is stupid so he could ride it crazy, Rossi is a bit older and knows how much it hurts to crash a lot.
In this sport i think the fast guys don't "get slow" they lose their nerve as they get older.
yeah stoner at times does whine a bit but remember he is young and basically a gifted rider, so he will have to learn humility with time, it happens to us all. remember he was a young champion and such so he is sort of a cry baby when things don't go his way perfectly.
but he is absolutely killing them when it comes to races,
It's going to be another wet race.
Maybe it will actually be fun to watch.
Maybe Stoner will get all the sand out of his vag

Exactly! Otherwise it would have been the same old thing.
And that's why I think they should use old touring tires for the races. Worn out, old, hard as a rock and questionable tires. That would make the race so much more interesting.
During the race I was mentioning how Loren-dope would not handle catching up to Stoner well. Seconds later he throws the bike down.
The problem is now: which d-bag do you want to see win, Loren-dope or whiny Stoner?

Vale smacking Stoner was a joke. ;D But I do remember at the final 2006 race when Hayden won the Championship Rossi said that if he had to loose the Championship to anyone that year he hoped it was Hayden. And he seemed genuinely sincere and happy for Hayden. And has since said many nice, sportsman-like comments about Hayden. Long before they were current teammates.
No, I have not heard or read anything about Spies. Hope he's OK... obviously. [thumbsup]

The third faller in the MotoGP class was Ben Spies, the Texan crashing unseen by the TV cameras. He fell heavily, sliding into the wall and hitting it with his back, his back protector destroyed in the crash, but allowing Spies to come away bruised, sore, but largely unhurt. The quality of protective gear is pretty impressive at the moment, though there is always room for improvement.

Didn't we already have the opinion that they should turn on the sprinklers for every race? Maybe through in a cobra or 2.
Stoner - crazy fast
Factory Yama's - WTF? Those guys need lessons on how to ride in the wet.
Ducati - Nicky has always been a cautious rider. His riding style is suited for the wet. Rossi can back from the last row to get a 6th. If he would have put in a better effort in QP, he would have probably battled for at least 4th.
Edwards - :o [bow_down] That guy is beyond words.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the idea for the sprinklers was for F1, not MotoGP. The rain shakes things up a bit, but in the end the racing is still crap because half the field chucks their bikes in the gravel. The grid numbers are embarrassing as it stands, so losing more bikes just makes it look pathetic.
Is it just me or do others see the shift back to 1000cc bikes as a pathetic effort to fill the grid? I like MotoGP (not nearly as much as WSBK) but I just don't see happy days in the future. The world economy is still pretty much in the dumpster, the factories can't be happy with their economic situation (anyone see Suzuki on the grid in 2012??) and what can DORNA do to fill the grid? Hold a gun to the head of Kawasaki and make them field a team?? [bang] Someday somewhere someone has to ask: who cares about a Honda, Yamaha and sorta a Ducati race series? Just saying... [roll]

I do see big trouble too with the grid and GP. After watching the Silverstone moto2 race, I was seriously thinking - just drop the GP class, make moto2 where it is at for the prestige level. If it takes a standard engine package to do it, so be it. It was great watching
Smith come from starting 28th to finishing 2nd - unbelievable.

Glad to see I didn't get the shit kicked out of me for that post. :o I have thought that for awhile and I see that some of you have had the same thoughts. Yeah sure, I love WSBK but I also love MotoGP and worry about it's future. Like F1, it's expenses are through the roof compared to WSBK... or I assume they are. I'd love to see a comparison of MotoGP viewers/fans vs WSBK. Of course that's what prospective sponsors would be looking at too. I have no idea, but I hope the new displacement rules will have a positive effect on MotoGP. But it's hard to turn back the hands of time to 2006! [thumbsup] [Dolph] [beer]

Here's my off-the-top-of-my-head formula: go to 1000cc, ditch the Bridgestone tires for something else--anything else, and get rid of the fuel limit. Moto2-esque spec engines would make it even better. Hell, make it a CRT-only series and that'd be a blast as well.

So Edward's wife doesn't have the humor gene in her DNA either. He and I have more in common than I thought! [laugh]
Try not to marry a girl without a humor gene [roll]...it leads to this while you're trying to keep her happy.. [bow_down]
then this when you realize nothing you do will make her understand your style [bang]
and this when you just don't care anymore... [coffee]
Sometimes it'll then degrade to this when you think the grass is greener... [evil]
But...if you suffer it out, that's when things actually start to get interesting, like this :-*

because, in the end, you'll always still have this [Dolph]?
I'm liking thought's version! [laugh]
