What to do on a wet weekend? Add some bling to my bike!
I decided to get rid of the ugly OEM levers and add something that fitted better with the rest of the hand gear (ie black). I got a really good deal on the Rizomas, and liked the quality of their bar end mirrors. I'm pleased with the result and especially that the reach adjustment knob, which only comes in gold, matches the forks.

Mods so far:
- Anodised aluminium tyre valve caps
- Rizoma Avio 21 front and rear LED indicators
- Ducati Performance Tail Chop
- Rizoma Reverse Retro mirrors and Rizoma bar ends
- Rizoma brake and clutch levers
To come (when finances/time/wife allows):
- Rizoma rearsets
- Rizoma front sprocket cover
- Carbon fibre rear wheel hugger
- Open clutch
I'm not sure about the clutch, whether to do it and which combination to use if I do. I'm a bit wary of opening it up as my bike sits in the rain a lot (and near the coast so the air is quite salty). I also ride through a quiet residential neighbourhood late at night so don't want the bike too noisy. If I do do it I am thinking of the Speddymoto 10 spoke cover, as it mirrors the design of the wheels. Would that mean I have to use a Speedymoto pressure plate, or could I use another brand?
you could use any brand of pressure plate, the speedy moto stuff is very nice though, and has large shoulders that protect the springs and posts that locate them, handy if you fall off, the speedy moto covers are very strong as well though. they're not really much louder, except with the clutch disengaged with the plates jingling, i prefer the open clutch especially if you give it a hard time, the ventilation keeps it cool and helps get rid of clutch dust too.
you should get the stainless steel springs and anodised spring caps as well, the std stuff does rust and look ordinary.
paul.
Thanks for the advice. It is definitely the last mod on my list, so won't be happening any time soon. Hopefully, by then, I will have decided upon whether to go with a red pressure plate (to match the frame and tank) or gold (to accent the forks). Or maybe I should go with black and keep it low key!
+1 to getting the SS springs, I neglected to get them in my package and now have to look at getting them replaced, they do look a bit naff when they go brown.
BTW, I live by the coast as well and I haven't seen any undue rust/corrosion on my open clutch. I got the 5 spoke DP anodized plate and cover, and as previously stated, the noise really is only noticeable when in neutral so don't worry about upsetting the neighbours, that's what the Termi's are for.[evil]
... hence not on my list!
