Name: John
Location: For now, Afghanistan, Home is Oceanside, CA
Bikes: 2004 Yamaha Warrior, in the process of buying some sort of Monster
How long you've been riding: On 4 wheels, 5 years. On 2 wheels, complete noob.
Anything else you'd like to share: The one instance that got me into Ducati was when I was out on Coast Hwy getting a haircut. I saw a gentleman leave the barber shop and go out to his bike. I was interested to see what he rode so I went out to see. It was an all black S4RS with carbon fiber bits everywhere. The bike stood out in my mind and could never forget it.
Well, it's official. My wife picked up a 2009 M1100 for me and it's sitting in my garage waiting for me to get home from Afghanistan! Can't wait to get home to my fam!
congratulations and keep yourself safe.
make sure you take a bit of time when you get back to relax before you get on the bike or even driving for that matter.

Thanks for the congrats, much appreciated!
I most definitely will take my time with both! Driving is a bit trick since I have not driven in awhile. It will be even worse at 7 1/2 months! Probably will end up walking to the beach and watching the sun rise over WATER! Dang I miss the US of A!
If I had a wife who spent her time buying me a motorcycle.....
... I'm pretty sure I would be more anxious to see her than to ride.
Sounds like you're a lucky man [thumbsup]
Yeah I'm very anxious to get home and see my wife and kids. I try not to think about them too much while I'm out here. It'll make you go crazy after awhile.
I'll see if my wife can send me some pictures so I can post 'em up here.

Just have her upload to flikr or similar and you can link to them.
We don't host pictures...http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=109.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=109.0)
Ok, I'll post them up via photobucket or something. Hopefully that won't be blocked on one of the networks over here.
Congrats on the ride and thanks for serving.
See you when you get home.
