Eleventh Annual DESMO Bar-B-Que
DESMO's Premier Event!
DESMO's biggest event of the year is scheduled for Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Thomas Bull Park in Hamptonburgh, NY (Orange County).
There'll be prizes & surprises. We have a private section reserved for us, complete with covered picnic tables, a softball diamond, a playground and a volleyball court. There is plenty of room for you and your bike, and all are invited.
Great Motorcycles
Contests and Prizes
Awesome Food
Door Prize Raffle
Good Friends
As always, we'll host our World Famous door prize raffle, with fantastic donations from our favorite sponsors. Expect gift certificates; trackdays; leather jackets, shirts and other apparel; parts and accessories; oils and cleaners; DVDs; and so much more! Bring your saddlebags and tailbags. Everyone gets one free door prize ticket.
This is your chance to meet and mingle with scores of Ducatisti, talk about and show off your bikes, brag about your trackday experiences, and check out the bling on everyone else's bike. And it’s a great way to share your passion with your family.
Seventh Annual Bike Show
In conjunction with the BBQ, we will host our Annual Ducati Bike Show. So, order that last minute bling (need a DESMO alternator cover plate?), spit & polish your bike ‘til it shines, and get ready to show off your loved one(s).
Last year’s Bike Show classes included:
Best 4-Valve
Best 2-Valve
Best SportTourer
Best Naked
Best Vintage
We’re always surprised by the great bikes that come out to playâ€"it’s literally a rolling timeline of Ducati history. Unique trophies to each Best in Class. And as always, the winner of this year's Best of Show award will take home a very unique one-off trophy guaranteed to please. Additionally, the Stronzo, Pigpen, and the Bling Awards will be making their return with some new friends as well. Don’t worry-there’s a huge parking lot so there’s plenty of room for your trailer, if your wife and kids won’t fit comfortably with you on top of your bevel single.

This is the last week to register so get on it, it you want to join in the BBQ!
Would love the opportunity to meet some local riders, but I'm working that weekend (which is a good thing, according to my creditors).

No worries. Working is good. I may try to organize a shotgun outing to NJ in Sept.

Alright, time to think about the ride up! Here's what I'm thinking which should work for everyone:
9:00-9:30: Gas Station between Exit 4 and 5 on the Palisades Parkway. This gas station can be entered from both northbound and southbound. Kick-stand up at 9:30am sharp.
From the Palisades, we will take Exit 12 to S. Mountain Road to CR33 then cut west on Willow Grove Rd to CR106
From the western end of CR106 we will probably take 17 north to the BBQ site
Disclaimer: If it's raining on Sunday morning when I get out of the apartment, I'll probably bail on the BBQ.

It should. Except for the CR106 indulgence, it's a pretty straight shot to the BBQ site. Estimated riding time from the gas station is about 2-2:30 hours. Of course you are welcome to peel off anytime and bypass 106 if the timing gets close. Your call.

PC,
I'll probably leave the garage around 8:30am if you want to ride up together.

Sounds good, see you then
Looks like T and I are headed to the track instead.... if there's anyone that wants to go to the BBQ that didn't make the cut off for registration, let me know. I can ask Ben to transfer our paid registrations.

See you guys at the gasoline station [Dolph]
Rainy day tomorrow. who's still in?
It's going to be a game time decision for me. Let's just meet at the BBQ site if you want to go. No sense in organizing a group ride with such iffy weather.
