Title: S4R Radiator?
Post by: Mad Mal on June 30, 2011, 10:05:11 PM
Hi folks,
Got a leak in the radiator  :(, is there any alternate radiator out there apart from the Ducati one for 07 S4R.

Cheers Mal.

I had a leak develop in mine but Ducati replaced it under warranty.

On the odd occasion you will see a used one on ebay for around $300.

As far as i'm aware it is the same radiator as on the 998.

The '07 S4R has two small fans, the SBK's only have one, and AFAIK the spigots are different.

The earlier '01 and '02 S4 and '03-'06 S4R (Desmoquattros) I think have the same radiator...EXCEPT the fans are different, not the same hole pattern.

If I can remember, I can check at my shop, I've got a fairly bent S4R Testa radiator.

Yeah it's been fixed before from fall over in the garage, and has been soldered and then the epoxy leak stuff.
Just waiting for Ducati to get back to me with a price on new one, but from what i've found from our mates in the US they about $1500.
Also have talked to PWR, they can make a custom one but the bending the core can be a problem, but also have just looked at bike and I think I can get a straight radiator in there, will have to make dummy one.

where are you mate?
i had a custom curved radiator made for my 888 here in brissie and it cost me $700 with custom alloy tanks and high tech core with "turbolators" which help with keeping things cool, no fan on it and it's a high compression tuned engine, no overheating at all.

Im in Canberra. Do you have there contact details?
The standard radiators are made by KTM but nothing comes up when I search the part number, but the KTM LC8 Duke radiator is so close but one of the water outlets is on the other side and about $850 here and about $400 in the US.

Cheers Mal

Previous member Capo, found on UKMOC, has a narrow radiator.
Otherwise similar, but at about two inches smaller it's visually almost gone 8)

Do I have pictures? Sorry, no, but here's a link....
