Title: hot weather gloves
Post by: aaronb on July 02, 2011, 02:31:42 PM
what is everyone wearing on the hot days?  i have been looking at these, but i can't really find anything else comparable.  what other manufacturers have a  glove with good protection and ventilation?

Those gloves have a lot of good reviews at Revzilla

Lots of great video reviews of gloves to make anyone confused at Revzilla!

I wear these, http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/spidi-rv-coupe-glove. (http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/spidi-rv-coupe-glove.)  They are my first, quality, summer/short gloves made of leather. Still, they are thinner, with less protection than my full gauntlet gloves.

I foolishly went thru many pairs of "summer" gloves, they are mostly made of fabric and cheaply made to flow air. I'm going to look into the Held brand for my next pair of gloves, as the choices for 3xl sized gloves made by my favorite euro manufactures are limited.

These are awesome. Breathe well and have amazing protection for a summer glove...

I've been wearing Fox offroading gloves since '97 here in AZ. Good ventilation and hard knuckles built in over the last few years. Of course, I have leather gloves for winter and gauntlet as well.

Helimot F-108.  Kevlar and kangaroo provide great protection, handmade in USA.  Serious gauntlet gloves.  Dip them in water and ride in 104F.

Off road gloves might not be great if you slide down the road - I've blown though off road gloves in 20mph crashes in the dirt.

For hot street riding I use Joe Rocket GPX 2.0 Gloves.  They are very cool, have great leather quality and fit me well.  Like them better than anything else I've had (and I've had held, A* etc) and they are < $100.

I just picked up a pair of Cortech "Accelerator 2.0" 's to replace my A*'s SPS's. I went a size larger trying to reduce some finger numbness. Decent glove so far. Leather is soft. My only concern is that the left feels slightly larger that the right. which is better than the other way around.

I had the Rev'it Monster Gloves, too.  Looks great and the goatskin leather is fantastically soft.  I really like the little detail it has on the fingers.  However, the finger length of the glove isn't made long enough and it numbs my finger/hand over time.  I reluctantly gave them to my brother.
