Anybody else ride with these? And if so, do yours squeek like a rusty gate when you walk in them? I'm sure it's the armour rubbing on the boot somewhere. Anybody find a solution to the problem?
Bueler..... Bueler...... Anyone
yeah, they squeak. And it seems the more they break in, the more they squeak. BUT with that being said the fit and comfort is amazing and they feel like if the shit hits the fan they are going to protect your feet and ankles.
agreed [thumbsup]
just tired of people staring at me when I walk by.
the people in my office try to break my balls....so I stop and do a little dance for em....

Oh, now, you're just not being creative enough. Tell them you're chasing mice or something. [cheeky]
Candle wax or white lithium grease. The lithium grease works best and can be found at most bike shops.
Oh yeah.. mine are super squeaky... nothing quite like white boots that squeak like mad... subtle.... low key even. [laugh]

Ya, one guy used to give me a hard time EVERY morning at work, till one day I asked him if he thought they would still squeek after they were half way up his a$$..... I was having a bad day ;D
lithium grease is the way to go, takes out the squeak well (To get from where I park my bike I have walk thru from hospital reception and then thru the emergency dept to get to my locker with constant sniggers all the way!) just remember reapplication is a must!! [thumbsup]
Thanks everyone [thumbsup]
Imagine this:
Getting to your physics final 10 mins late in full gear with your SMX boots on. SQUEAK like crazy for a full 5 minutes while your take your seat. At this point everybody in the 300 person auditorium is giving you the stink eye.
Yes, that was me. The next day I tried everything I could to get rid of he squeak. I failed miserably...

Lithium grease is messy and visible when applie. The DuPont Dry Lube I use for my chain and boots is invisible and is able to be sprayed into almost anything...
Hi guys, I've got those squeeky A-stars as well... Used some silicone spray and it stopped squeeking... Fantastic... [thumbsup]
Paste furniture wax works well. (I had some lying around) It's nearly invisible when applied. you will have to reapply it just like the other options.
so where does one get this dupont dry lube from?
I got mine at Lowe's Home Improvement store...
sweet :)
I had a pair of Oxtar boots that squeaked. The silicone stuff that came with them made the squeak worse. wax and soap did nothing either. Then I tried Jigaloo (jigaloo.com). No more squeaking. Ever.

Yeah, that little dropper bottle they give you is crap...
Went with the Jigaloo (cuz it was the first one I found) And perfecto, no more squeeks. Plus it's supposed to be a good water repelant.
Thanks Gang [beer]
You're welcome
You guys are over engineering this.
"Yet another use for...." WD40!
Works a treat.
Hope this helps

Do you apply the Dupont Teflon dry-lube just in certain places like around the armored areas or over all the lower rear half of the boots ?
I just apply it in the armored areas that are causing the squeaking...
