So I recently dropped my 05' 620 on its right side when I hit some wet sand into a turn after some rain. I was only doing about 15-20mph. The first thing that came to my attention was that the handlebars were now hitting the tank. Well I replaced them, and in doing so I noticed that one of the "tabs" or steering stops is slightly cracked.... I did some research and saw that people (insurance comp) consider this TOTALED. Is there ANYTHING I could do to fix this? Unfortunately, again unfortunately, I didn't go with full coverage insurance because of my driving record and what I payed for this bike. Please someone tell me I just didn't learn a $3k lesson...

Have it welded.
Thanks man... That's what I have already planned to do... I just wanted to make sure that would work... I never have to turn the bars as far as the steering stops go anyway. This bike has brought me so many smiles and frowns... It's a mood swing on wheels I tell you.
could you post a picture of the crack?
Will do... that might make it easier for people understand. I'll do it tomorrow when there is light out... right now go Celtics.

I hear you bro, my other babies are my cars. I have a 70 cuda that has been sitting for a year because of an incident that happend mechanicly. Coming up with the money and all to fix it sucks so its been sitting and I'm forced to look at it. Now I have the cash to fix it but no time. So I finally broke down and took it to my local hot rod shop and let them fix it. I should have it back next week, I cant wait.

To the OP, sounds like ya just gotta find a talented welder and the bike will be good as new...
Sorry to threadjack, but I'd love to see pics of said Cuda. [beer]
I agree with Stangman... My bike is going to get welded up but pics of the CUDA' would really cheer me up.... And I am extremely jealous.
