Title: New to Ducati
Post by: notoriousRAB on July 18, 2011, 11:55:27 AM
Hello fellow Ducati owners,

I recent (last Thursday) bought my first Ducati. A 2001 Monster 750 with 4,000 miles on it, and for just $3K. The bike looks brand new and had been maintained amazingly. The previous owner supplied me with all the paper work, including paper work proving it had the belts and valves done at 3k miles. My only issue with this bike was that the first owner was a female. No, not because there supposed poor drivers (or riders) but because this female was extremely short. The ride height was poorly set and the rear spring preload was garbage. But its fixed now and rides like a dream.

Mods:
-Fresco high mount exhaust (never heard of it before, has anyone else?)
-Smoked rear light
-Chopped tail

A little bit about myself: This is my second bike (first one was a 08' R6 (sold)). I sold it thinking I would never buy another bike, I even gave my jacket to a Army vet I was so sure... but I relapsed. I got the itch, so I went on a search for my next ride. I've always preferred somewhat difficult vehicles, I like the challenge. I own a heavily modded Subaru that I auto-x with at least once a month, and was also a crew chief on a grass roots rally team. For some reason or another Ducati caught my eye as the bike to have next, could it be the servicing every 6k miles? could it be the heavenly sound? or the prestige the Ducati name offers?

Picture of said Subaru. Pics of the Ducati to come...

Welcome to the madhouse 8)

Fresco is a known brand - don't know anything about it first hand, but if yours is making a roar and isn't leaking = good  [thumbsup]

I love the Subaru boxersound.
Subarus and Porsches are high on my list just because of that.
