Hope you guys don't give me the boot ;D
Today was a long day, i hit up a Aprilia dealer that was only 10min from my house and checked out the Tuono 1000. WOW it fit me so much better. They had 2 2007s black/sivler combo and a red/white combo.
I was almost sold. The sales guys was knowledgeable, and very very nice too deal with.
i wanted to give Ducati another try, i wanted my Tricolore :)
Went to a Ducati delaer, and they had a Black/silver 07 and a 08 Tricolore (# 59 if anyone is wondering lol)
I sat on the bikes, (my friend that came with me later told me i had a look of dissapointment lol)
the bike felt so TINY. I sat on it,, checked them both out for about 15minutes. got up walked around the store to clear my head lol, came back and not one sales guy came up to me.
Even my friend was like WTF is going on here lol
It was almost lunch by this time, so all that was going on in my head was EAT,EAT,EAT,EAT,EAT
Figured we would go eat and come back.
As we sat there eating disscussing both bikes, my love for Ducati died over a large Prime Rib sub.
The Tuono was calling my name.
Off we went to the main importer of Aprilia's. If anoyne could give me a good deal it was the warehouse who sells to the other dealers.
As we walked in the doors,, my eyes lit up, there by the front desk a 2008 Tuono FACTORY :o
I knew this was going to take a GIANT chunk out of the poor bank account. I was sold before i even noticed the sweet flat black 07. I thought about the 07 for about 5min lol, then said, F it, write up the Factory ;D
We talked, and i got what i think was a fair deal. Not great but considering it is the ONLY 08 factory to make it;s way to Canada so far, i could only bargin so much.
I could NOT be happier with the service i got from both dealers. In fact the importer lives not 2min away from my house lol. Once he found that out, i got free frame sliders, and he said we'll do the 1000km serive at his house, on the house lol. And if i have any issues to come by and let him know. I can even drop it off with him for the major serive and he will truck it in and deliver it back ;D
He even dropped by tonight on his way home too see how i liked the bike and make sure eveything was ok [beer]
The bike had .3km. yes POINT 3 km lol
I wish i got a picutre of that
Anyway blah blah blah on to the pics :D why am i not riding you ask, RAIN. Thats right, RAIN. It poured as i took deliver of the bike at about 4pm, then rained most of the way home. Then stopped enough for me too wash it and put it away until tommorow [evil]

Glad you finally got things sorted out [thumbsup] Beautiful bike. Enjoy [thumbsup]
Looked great, til I saw the blue wheels. What's with that? Doesn't seem to go with the bike at all. Glad you're happy and I hope you still contact DNA and let them know how and why they lost business...
Very nice! It's pretty hard to argue with your decision. That is one fine looking machine. [thumbsup] And it's still Italian so you are at least in the right neighborhood.
Your comment about no one in the Ducati dealership even noticing you were there sounds awfullyy familiar. Seeing as you are a fellow Canuck I'm really curious if it's the same dealership that I walked out of for the same reason.
Would you by chance be talking about a certain dealership along the QEW by Oakville? [cheeky]
Sounds like you got an awesome deal + great customer service experience + a very nice bike.
Can't beat that, Congrats! [thumbsup]

haha acutalyl Peninsula Imports was that one that scrwed me out of the Tricolore. The WORST experience EVER
NEver EVER EVER buy anyhting there. After they lost me the bike, no appology no explaination. NOTHING
I acutally got ignored at GP Bikes , which was odd, i hear everyone gets good service there. But going with my great luck it did not suprise me lol.
The only dealer i never visited, but did talk too, was REV

Well after getting ignored and then basically insulted I decided Peninsula Imports were a bunch of idiots. I've been in GP Bikes and they seemed okay but very busy.
I ended up going to Ottawa to buy my bike.
Good Guys at the Goodtime Center there [thumbsup]
(But now that you own that awesome Aprilia instead....it really doesn't matter any more...does it?.. ;D )

Ya GP was nto so busy lol, they just all seemed to have better things to do than try and sell me a bike [roll] Whatever i am waaaay happier ;D
Congratulations! That Tuono is a stellar bike. [thumbsup] Good to hear your story has a happy ending.

Congrats zc911, glad you finally got yourself a bike, and such a nice one too! [thumbsup] All the Aprilia owners I know are quite happy with their bikes. [moto]

Ron just served 24hrs for threadjacking another new bike thread (where the bike was a 696); so essentially his comment is satire.
Congratulations on the new bike, zc911 - look fantastic, and probably rides like a dream (I've never ridden an Aprillia - sad, but true :'( ).
You need to write DNA about your experience, they should be flaming someone for letting buyers walk out the door. Glad you got a biike and you are still welcome. It's not your fault the dealers sucked.
That is one of the only bikes I will accept as a cheat [thumbsup] . I love them myself
Very nice, congrats on the bike [thumbsup], only one i have ever ridden was the mille and that has a stonking motor ;D
very nice bike man. i was up at scuderia a few weeks ago in SF and looking at their tuonos and was impressed by a black and gray one. Really cool bikes. I daresay for a liquid cooled naked that i like the look of the tuono over the S4r, but what do I know, i'm a die-hard 2V fanboy ;) sweet bike, i think the tricolore or the tuono factory would be killer!
was at the Austin Ducati/Aprilia/Guzzi dealer today and man the Tuono looks fun as hell. Then again so did the 3 848's, 3 1098's, 2 696 darks, 01 M900i.e....
congrats on a sweet choice of rides man [thumbsup]
Thansk guys, the ride to work this morning, oh so much FUN [moto]

already done. I fi was ducati i would be pissed. I am sure they don;t sell a ton of bikes up here. I mean even the attitude of the first dealer after he could not get the bike, was oh well. Here buy this yellow 1098 i;ve had sitting since last year.
boggles the mind :P
I followed one of those down my South Coast here once.
My wife was wondering why I was weaving around in the traffic.
Then she saw the Tuono I was trying to follow and get an eye full of.
Great bike, congrats and enjoy.
Beautiful machine!!! [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
Very nice bike and you have to love the .3KM, Pinheads inc. (Peninsula Imports) are crooks, they've lost more than a few contract over the years and at various points they keep losing the mechanics. Bought my original '05 620dark from them, and let them service it once ... never again. Bought the new S2R 800 from GP, unless you are waving cash Gerry isn't always interested it seem. I have to admit I like the service guys at Rev Cycle, then again they have done minor checks for free, will take my bike for the day to do service during the week (hell I'm at work anyway) and it is done by the time I'm ready to go home. Though I have to admit I'm likeing your deal a lot better so where is this importer located?
Cheers and happy riding [beer]

The importer is Motoretta. talk to George. You'll probably hear him before you see him lol. great guy to deal with [thumbsup]. They share the warehouse with The Piaggio group.
Met one of Executives of the Piaggio group as well.
They are all really great to deal with

If I were to buy a new bike tahday..!! I'd buy a Superduke R. That bike.... is Satan's own [evil]
I've had an 04 tuono for years, absolutely great bike, it's my long distance touring bike and does everything reasonably well from mountain riding to distance to daily rider.
Aprilia's are probably one of the most underrated bikes in the world. I bought a aprilia shiver recently but had to sell as the seat shape didn't agree with an old injury, but an exc. and very capable bike as well.
Chris
Love the bike, even the rims, it fits the persona [thumbsup]
Is the service schedule similar to ducatis? Ie inspections, oil changes etc.
I like the blue wheels. Kinda cool.

maitnence wise, similar, but no belts to change, and valves rarley need adjusted. The interval is the same 7500miles or 10,000km. But in his experince he has opned them up for nothing as everything is still perfect.
That is a gorgeous bike i see why you went with it over the Duc. Congrats!!
Can't say I blame you, that is an amazing looking machine. [beer]
Nice bike!
It look like it would be time-consuming to service. The motor is well hidden.
Nice wheels ZC: At least you stayed Italian.
Kind of a shame we have like 5 Ducati dealers in all of Ontario.
I have been treated right by both by Carl at GP and also Mike Inglis at Inglis. It was a pleasure to buy and they made things easy from the get go. Sorry to hear you got the run around at Pennisula. I have visited but no purchases on anything.
Happy riding.

They won't listen as they are too cool to do that, after all my MH900e issues and the Monsta fire they were more interested in saving money than creating customer happiness.
So, I bought a 2007 RSVR, one guy said about three weeks ago, what the fcuk made you buy that?? ... my answer was short and concise in thought ... DUCATI!
Anyway, I still have Malattia and love her but I am not sure that there will be anymore reds in the shed.

Well four emails later over two months NO RESPONSE, so sorry fellas, look over the fence time.

I like the Tuono [thumbsup]. I was going to buy a 2006 red/white but the local Aprilla dealer was having so many problems getting parts, they dropped the line. Now no local Aprilla service/sales available.
Sweet ride, congrats!!! The rotax is dead reliable and I love the styling. I even told myself that if I ever wanted a standard big twin, that would be the bike.
Is the frame really brown/tan?
thanks guys
the good thing for me is there are more Aprilia dealers near me than ducati. And the importer lives a few houses away 8)
The frame is more gold, but my camera sucks lol Spent all my money on the bike ;D
Good choice I must say. The Tuono feels bigger, and is much more comfortable than my S4. It's my favorite bike ever.

Cool ride zc911, too bad Ducati left such a bad taste in your mouth. I can't imagine Salesmen not wanting to sell a bike unless they were in the process of writing up an order but still you don't ignore someone on the sales floor . yup plain ignored. One dude was behind the counter, flipping through a mag, and at least 3 other guys where in one office laughing and chatting it up.
If i wanted one of their bikes i would have bothered them. But i was pretty much sold on the Tuono at that point [thumbsup]
