so, i ordered up some Bridgestone bt021's.
they arrived at my home this afternoon. then it dawned on me.
how the hell do i get them to the shop without being "that guy" and asking a friend to help me out.
I loathe being that guy. But i just may have to this time. and here's the reason...
I bungeed the crap outta the tires to make them stable on the bike. NO chance they are gonna fall off on the road?
But I'm shoved forward so far that my nuts are smashed up against the tank that each little vibration can be felt. THrOUGH THE EVER SO SENSETIVE TESTES!!!
Imaging hundreds of tiny gnomes kicking you in the balls, over and over and over, for the 20 minute ride. And don't even think of braking. Then it's like a sledgehammer.
My buddy recommended going bandoleer style. lol.
I think that i'm gonna have to be THAT guy. :(
I just wear the tires.
I try not to imagine myself falling off and rolling.
yep - wear 'em. I put some blue masking tape on my tank, since my test fit showed it'd rest on the tank.
Step into it, pull it up, kick a leg over and off you go. I knocked out 25 miles to a buddies garage to have it fitted up. Got a couple odd looks, but it wasn't a problem at all.
I say bandoleer em! ;D
Just make sure someone takes pictures and share em...... [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
baahhahaha... i tried them hulahoop style and it works!!!
feels awkward, but it is an idear.
+1 to wearing them.
[thumbsup]
Here, I just modeled it (unfortunately poor lighting didn't make for a great picture).

I think they make me look fat though. [cheeky]
How about taking your wheels off the motorcycle and driving into town? Might save you some money in mounting costs.

LOL.
yeah, my spare tire with a set of tires is 3 too many tires around my waist. [cheeky]
Yep..put em both around your waste and go!!
I've done it a few times. Thankfully, the mechanics house was only 2 miles away on not-so-busy surface streets.
Put one around your neck ;D
Next time give them the shop`s addres as point of delivery [thumbsup]
I was changing the rear only, but I took my backpack and put it in the center of the tire. I then bungied the tire to the backpack. It worked out well. The only downside is the extra weight so high up really screws with your center of balance. Ride carefully.

Put a jacket over over them, you'll look like me [laugh]
haha. I wear them too. Actually, just this past Tuesday I wore a rear tire to my mechanic. I can't say I've ever done two at once, though it is a good look.
