Title: For the cost conscious.
Post by: rendang on August 04, 2011, 02:47:25 AM

Some motorcycle apparel an accessories bargains from aldi. Thurday, August 11th. The Motorcycle socks and merino tops could be good for those chilly mornings, also could pick up some adult novels ($2.99) and asian savings sensations.

Is this another discussion about what helmets are worth with the AS/NZ sticker, they have all passed the same test as your new $1000 Shoei, but it must be about $930 safer

I bought a couple of pair of socks (last year) and I find them quite good, find them a lot more comfortable than using work sox in your riding boots.

Might go and buy some more me thinks.

Interesting point, how effective or how stringent is the test if a $69 helmet can pass it ?
Cheers on the socks  [thumbsup] I'll get some of those.

Got some socks.

Tried on the leader jacket - it was awfully stiff and inflexible.

They had sold out of paddock stands (I have a DP rear but wanted something to lift the front wheel).

No sign of the 'mid-layers'.

Helmets looked cheep.

Oh well!

Got me a couple of pairs of socks, a couple of balaclava's and a couple of mid layers.
Almost got run over by 5-10 other blokes bounding into the store looking for bargains.

The bloke who got the one and only paddock stand that I could was guarding it like it was made of gold....

$90  for the lot, happy as...

Is your surname Carter by any chance ? If so we got the same name !
                                                     cheers   Steve

Nope, but the Christian names are the same.

Brian, thanks for the link, I will look into it (if I can't find any Aldi ones left!).  Any experience with them?
