Post by: rod796 on August 25, 2011, 11:04:50 PM
By vividly recounting the TT's legendary rivalries and the Isle of Man's unique road racing history, this 3D feature documentary will discover why modern TT riders still risk their lives to win the world's most dangerous race. The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is the greatest motorcycle road race in the world, the ultimate challenge for rider and machine. It has always called for a commitment far beyond any other racing event, and many have made the ultimate sacrifice in their quest for victory. A story about freedom of choice, the strength of human spirit and the will to win.

I don't think that riding a motorbike after watching that movie would be such a good idea, might come out ready to make your own isle of man track all the way back home!

If there is any reality in the storytelling I don't know if that will be much of a problem for me ... scared shitless more likely.

I received an email from friends in the UK telling me to check it out (sending the trailer linked above) ... but that was what seemd like an age ago. Can't believe it has taken so long for a local release - doesn't exactly tie in with the MotoGP either.

I'm in Max..........thought i would invite "stickerman"      his reply was in two txt messages, as per below, word for word   [roll]

Brian  "want tkts to the TTS screening on the 22nd..?  Better hurry"

Reply  "I will wait for the DVD. All a bit Gay for me going to the pictures with all you bunch of queers. Bad enough riding around with you lot. LOL  !!!!!!! "

2nd Reply  Well it is, a bunch of grown men going to the movies together, even the cook thinks so LOL "

So, I would take those last two replies as a definate "no"  ......  [coffee]......Wobbart.......I finally deciphered them......"Guys, to put it bluntly, I am not allowed out midweek so I'll pass,  I daren't ask the cook, cos a certain part of my anatomy could end up decorating our Xmas tree,   [thumbsdown]... but many thanks for your kind offer.......

Kind Wegards,
Wobbart

Would suggest parking on Macquarie Street as Matty mentioned, otherwise, there is some parking at the Opera House. (Hambo, can you confirm this?)
Anyone that's keen to meet before and go find parking together can meet me @ Harry's (Woolloomooloo) at 1800.

Afterwards am happy to have a drink at the Opera Bar or to convoy over to Leichardt.... EVEN BETTER would be Gelato and Coffee @ Messina in Darlinghurst (lets decide on the night, but Messina is IMHO Sydney's BEST Gelato) [thumbsup]

Parking at the Opera house? Are you talking under the OH cause as you know that will cost as you'd know.
I'll meet you before at Harrys maybe even before 18:00 so we can get an entree to dinner.

I'm assuming this will only work if you are riding?

What is the parking situation for non-conformists?

Normally not too bad, i've driven plenty of times on way home and generally find a spot within a street or two. (It's toward the hospital end of vic street)

Yep I'll most likely be heading in from home so I can meet you out on the Princes Hwy.
If I end up being in town at the office before I'll let you know.
But I'm planning on being down at Harrys by 5:30 for a pie/hotdog before the movie.

For those Melbourne based peeps, my insider source at Village tells me that "TT 3D" is on their playlist at a 95% possibility, which she says ususally means it will play.

Opening on Oct 20th, TT 3D is expected to be at the Rivoli or arthouse cinemas capable of 3D .

The "Fastest" MotoGP movie is not due until November, around the 24th, again probably the Rivoli.

Well worth a look Melbourne peeps, I'm not one who likes a 3-D movie all that much but it's a great mix of vision and makes you feel like a granny when it comes your own bike riding.
