Very late notice I know, but Alan and I are cruising out to Muenster and the windmills tomorrow around noon. LYD and Tyler are also going so anyone who wants to join us, pipe up and let's go!
We're meeting at my house around 11:30 and will leave around noon or so. If you need directions, just PM me and I'll get in touch with you tonight or more than likely early tomorrow a.m.
And just as an FYI; FM 455 west from Hwy 730 has been completely re-paved [thumbsup]
+2
Dam. I want to but we made plans already. Repeat Monday?

Sure, why not?
I've been riding east on 455 from Sanger all the way across to 75; what an awful road situation that is these days, especially east of Celina. It's too bad because I really like the curves on that stretch of 455 opposed to the west bound stretch into Forestburg.
Oh well, who cares! Let's ride [Dolph]
Awe crud, we've got errands to run today. Otherwise it would have been great to join you all during this ride today.
Enjoy!
Had an awesome day. Bit windy but no worries. Thanks LYD and Tyler [thumbsup]
Thanks lisa and alan for letting tyler and I tag along! great day! we are going for longhorn burgers tomorrow? TXgrillguy may come also.
We google mapped the Longhorn burger joint in Oklahoma: it's 4 1/2 hours from my house. One way :o I think that particular ride will need some serious planning, if we want to do that someday. But that kind of time could get you well into Arkansas too...
At any rate, I'm going to bow-out of a Monday, Sept. 5 ride. We can plan another ride like it sometime soon so everyone has a bit more notice ;D
No problem.
I look forward to this next ride, sounds like it'll be a fun one. [thumbsup]
Now, headed to Taverna for brunch. We have other stops to make so we're caging it...but with the sunroof open.
Happy Labor Day!
Went on 455 this morning. Be very careful, the road has turned to shit with this heat
it wasnt bad yesterday, what bike did you take??
the Harley. Did you go East of Preston/289?

Yep, that's what I was talking about. As you head East on FM 455 out of Sanger all the way to Hwy 75 is a complete disaster. I bottomed out the front end of the 999 in a shell crater about a mile west of 75. Thought it was over. Then I just got mad.
Oddly enough, 90% of 455 WEST out of Sanger is completely resurfaced. Smooth as glass. Of course it's that other 10% that pops up randomly you've got to watch out for [bang]

We were west of
Sanger
Then stay west of Preston because I had to stop with my friend and three other bikes. It was that bad we all shook our heads. For the record my pig with a new front end handled awesome!
Rode the Muenster route today and I haven't seen the roads that good in years. Heavy oil field trucks have done a number on the tarmac. They must have brought in Arkansas road crews to do that good of a re-pave job! [thumbsup] The previous attempts at fixing the heavy truck damage sucked and never lasted very long. I was impressed at the work and smoothness of the roads.
Doc's was good as always and a couple of Harley riders played hooky from work and were enjoying lunch when I got there. Other than them the ride was bikeless. Looking forward to more cooler weather Muenster runs.
For the record, that was the first bike ride I have gone on since my Arkansas ride the first week of May. I can't remember the last June-August summer when I have never ridden a bike. It's been decades. It was just too damn hot this year. Ever since I got back from AR it seems like someone left the oven door open... for 3+ months! The older I get the more I don't like the heat. The wife and I keep talking about a home in the mountains of NM or CO. I'm sick of this shit! [bang] Then again, I don't like snow and cold either. [roll]
I hear you old fart. Wife and I are having the same discussions but we are trying to convince the parents to buy something for the family in CO or WY [evil]
I need more cash to escape these summers
