So how much less would the 2007 have to be in order for you to buy it? I think the local shop wants $10900 for the '08, $10200 for the '07.
Wow, I was in the same situation last year with my S2R 800 (new 07 vs. used 06 w/ 1400 miles) and there was was about a $1600 difference. The 06 looked new and still had plenty of warranty. I would take into consideration the mileage on the 07 you are looking at. All in all, for $700, I would probably opt for the new one.

They are both new with virtually NO miles... I would think they could discount the 07 by $1500 or so atleast.
Depends on if the `07 has had the 600 mile service done or not.
Is the 10,200 OTD? Depending where you are, its definately too much for an 07 unless its OTD. Even then I am sure you can find in for less.

What does OTD mean? The 07 has NO miles on it and is brand new.

My local dealer wanted $10500 for a left over 07. Called another dealer about 100 miles away, spoke to the guy for 10 minutes and had a 08 for $10200 out the door. [laugh] Greed will get ya, or at least lose a sale! BTW the local dealer wanted full list plus freight and set up for the 08.

Couple hundred bucks gets you a new bike w/ longer warrenty.
Other than that there is no difference.

Yeah, but how much is it going to cost you to drive 200 mi round trip to go get it?

warranty starts on the date of purchase for any new Ducati. So if the 07 and 08 are both new there is no difference in the length of the warranty.
For that price, there is really no difference. $700 is nothing. A leftover 07 should be AT LEAST under $10K OTD....
there is a bleck/white stripe, '07 s2rik, at a dealer near me & they want $9500, with $500 worth of gear. leftover 0 miles. if this can be some kind of guide. [coffee]
Anyone can get me a Green Card? ;D
I payed 15.300 USD for my 2006 brand new S2R 1000 OTD. List price for a 2008 is 20.600 USD.
And all this 700 miles away from Bologna.....
