Title: New Rider in Pittsburgh
Post by: Snake on June 19, 2008, 08:10:50 AM
Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Glenn, and I'm from the Pittsburgh area.  I'm going into my senior year at Penn State Behrend as a mechanical engineering student.    I'm VERY new to riding, started this summer.  My dad recently got back into bikes after a 30ish year break with an '07 Triumph Scrambler which he purchased last summer.  I have been riding that, mostly locally....and absolutely loving it.  I'm signed up for the MSF course currently, but the soonest i could get in was mid July.  My dad wanted to be able to ride with me, especially through the learning process, so we recently acquired an '08 monster S2R 1k from Lee at European Motorcycles of PGH.  I can't really tell you how it is to ride, as I have only taken it around the block a few times and the rain here is absolutely killing me  [bang].  So, for the time being, I'll stick to the scrambler until I can gain some more experience riding.

Glad I found this forum!

Glenn

Just to clarify the name, my dad and I built a 289 cobra replica when i was in high school.  I used the name on cobra forums where it was acceptable, and it just stuck.  The last person to get away with the name "Snake" was Kurt Russel in Escape from LA....which is a sweet movie by the way
