yes, I know it's old news, but wondering if Speedymoto or Motowheels might be picking up the rearsets slack left behind?? Just a thought.....talk amongst yourselves.............. [coffee]
I've been eyeing up the S&P rears for awhile, but just wondering.
I was under the impression that Speedymoto had all of Cyclecats old stock. What you see is what you get.
The way Cyclecat had issues getting getting stock shipped to them I also doubt that anyone other company would be willing to risk selling them.
Hold on, what's going on here has Cyclecat gone bust?
I thought they had just moved to a larger factory this year?
The big factory in the sky :-\
Oncycles.com has a lot of CycleCat clearance items, just in case anyone didn't know, but it's going fast... Mostly triple clamps, clip-on adapters, etc..
-I just picked up a set of clip-on adapter that were marked down from $200 (i think) to $55 for the pair. Good Deal!!

They didn't go bust. They have discontinued production of cycle parts. They are making widgets of some such shit because that pays the bills and rearsets don't. Big writeup on TOB. Rumors of Chris the designer starting his own company (Trackweapon) have gone quiet.

Chris wasn't the designer. A guy by the name of Gary is/was. Chris was in sales and marketing. Last I heard, he's still starting up Trackweapon.
i thought they were still selling everything through oncycles? My understanding was some pieces will always be in stock, but other items would be on an 'order only' basis. That is, they say "hey, on July 10th we are going to run a batch of XYZ. If you want XYZ, order here." And then however many orders (paid) they get, that's how many they make.
But I could be wrong. I do not pretend to have my ear the ground of accessory manufacturing.

Sorry to say, you're wrong - CC/OnCycles tried this, but not enough pre-orders - CC production is officially discontinued.
With low interest and new design Monsters replacing "ours" it is not likely that anyone will buy the patents and carry on from there. (As in TrackWeapons?)

Sucks for anyone who needs replacement parts like bars for the clipons. unless someone makes something suitable. I'd hate to have to get a new clipon system instead of a single bar.

As far as I know, Chris offered to buy the patents, but Alfred said no..
Oh well....life goes on eh.... ;)
What's wrong with you people?!
Chris has 2 things going. I'm surprised he hasn't posted here:

It's a cool website. Track Weapon works through the same site. Tell your friends and family!

I believe Alex Ortner was the lead designer

I believe that is correct. The Gary mentioned earlier was the head machinist back when if memory serves. I bought my Monster from Alfred in '00. In '01 he called and asked to "borrow" the bike to fit some proto rearset parts. I am almost positive it was Gary who came out to my house to do the fitting. Of course that was about 7 years, one job, two moves, another child, and an unknown number of beverages ago.
So at this time no one 'new' is picking up where CC left off, at least in the rearsets aspect. Huh. Oh well, not that I need them now anyway, but was just wondering. Most of my stuff is SM anyway, except the risers.
Yeah, I did get oncycles for leftovers, but nothing for rearsets. I'll shoot Christian @ SM an email to see if they picked up CC's stock.

Yeah, he was like the consulting designer with Gary.

TOB = The Other Board or The Original Board.
AKA The ruined dml
Oh OK, cause there was always a reference to the DML in those posts, but I just couldn't figure out how DML = TOB.
But now I know. Thnx. :)
TOB has been used on various boards to refer to the DML for a long time. It was basically a way to pregnant dog about it with some semblance of respect.
