Title: Aprilia RSVR Ohlins
Post by: rac3r on October 08, 2011, 01:05:09 PM
Anyone fitted Aprilia ohlins to their bike? Thinking of fitting them to my S2R 800. Apart from new triples what is needed?

(This model RSVR http://www.bikez.com/pictures/aprilia/2001/4121_0_1_2_rsv%20mille%20r_Image%20by%20Aprilia.%20Published%20with%20permission..jpg (http://www.bikez.com/pictures/aprilia/2001/4121_0_1_2_rsv%20mille%20r_Image%20by%20Aprilia.%20Published%20with%20permission..jpg))

Any help appreciated, Thanks

If the diameters are 50/54 and the length is right... go for it

Might need to fab up caliper and/or brake rotor spacers as well.

I know a few people who have bored to lower triple to 56mm.  I vaguely recall those forks being 54/56

The forks are 51mm at the top and they also use the same gold line calipers. Newer RSVR's switched to radial Brembo's

I'm thinking of just doing the normal SBK swap as the Ohlins one is mounting up in cost ££££ ($$$$)

yeah, theres no such thing as cheap ohlins. if they are cheap they are probably stuffed or bent.

i did sbk swap with 999 gear and love it and i doubt my enthusiastic street riding would really see benefits from ohlins. have to be realistic about your uses and expectations i spose.
