Some good roads in SA if you go in the right direction. I did Turismo there in 2008 I think.

Yeah you were there, I saw you several times. [cheeky]
Which reminds me, i'm visiting our city of churches this weekend.......looking forward to it actually.......dam near 30 years since i was in Adelaide.......
I live in Adelaide, got a M659, know a few good riding roads through the Adelaide Hills, and always up for a ride. [thumbsup]
Hit me up when you arrive and we'll do a couple of runs.
Us Monster riders down here are a bit of a loner breed! ;D
PM me too if you want to go riding - I live in the Adelaide Hills!
Now where is Vossy lurking?

I'm here!
Just got back from School Hols.
I was in a mates wedding on the west coast of Sth Aust so missed the GP trip this year.
I'm up for a ride most weekends [Dolph]
Just PM me [thumbsup]
The only problem is that I live down south ( Willunga) so a central meeting point would be the go.

Eagle on the Hill, Strathalbyn, even Williamstown are all good "central" meeting places ;D
Nice roads up in the Adelaide Hills people..........i was up there last weekend, GP time, and watched NZ trounce us in the Rugby at The Stirling pub.....next time i will have a better look around.............
It looks like we will be living in the Northern suburbs, Moona Para area i think.
we will be down there around mid Jan.
Sounds like there is a few of us down there.
There is a lot of Ducati's up here in Townsville, but not many Monsters.

that's Munno Para ;D
You can get a nice ride heading straight up Uley Rd towards One Tree Hill, then around to Kersbrook....oh heck here is a google map!

Plenty of fun roads to play on!
Question re the above map. How do you go past and not turn west at point F??? Don't think I could do it. I would be happy just doing laps of Gorge road until I got dizzy. [cheeky]

I avoid Gorge Rd like the plague - people have been killed on it, too many idiots racing on it, and that is including cars. It is getting worse in condition too. Hey if you love it that is cool, just don't expect me to follow you on it ;D
Too many other fun roads, like this:

SA may be small, but we do have some good roads. There are plenty more fun roads to be had, but I wont give it all away...yet
As for having too much time on my hands? Probably [cheeky]
Hahahah, yeah the best we can do up here is ride up the highway, or up one of two hills.
;(

That's a shame that it's gone to the dogs. Haven't been over there for a couple of years. The GOR (my back yard) has gone the same way so I have found other roads to have fun on.
Your alternatives look very nice.

Yeah they put up some neat crash barrier to stop you losing your legs but that is about it!
I heard the GOR has a ridiculous speed limit along it now? A lot of the roads in the hills here are getting the same low speed limit for what I can see not other reason than the incessant plague I call cyclists....

Yep the Melbourne half is all 60-80kmh, my half (the western half) still has many 100kmh areas but the 80km zones are creeping in. And during the day has it's fair share of cyclists and tourists. Early mornings is pretty empty but then you have water on the road, evenings are also pretty empty if you don't mind giving the odd koala a hand across the road. :o
