Title: Looking for 999 replacement parts...
Post by: Cher on November 15, 2011, 06:33:29 AM

Given my 999's current sad state of affairs, I'm on the lookout for these specific bodywork pieces:

Front cowling
Two-piece tail section (mono)
Left side fairing - Upper
Left side fairing - Lower
Left side barge board

Bodywork must be for the first gen 999, 2003-2004 and should have no broken mounting tabs.
Color does not matter because all donor pieces will be repainted yellow.

So if anyone runs across any of these parts, please let me know!

Why yes, yes, I am.  They had everything else on my crash-damage list  [bang] (twelve miscellaneous parts in total, not counting bodywork).  But thanks very much for the tip.  I'm not 100% sure but I think these are the folks that LYD used to find some of his 998 replacement parts; and they're in Fort Worth I think.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.  The more I look at it and how long I'm going to be out of commission, parting it out is still an option.  I have not started it since it came home; shift lever is toast and the clip on with clutch reservoir, etc. is broken and now taken apart.  I need a left side clip on to get the project going, and honestly, I'm not up for it right now.  Kinda lost steam on the whole thing.

But I definitely appreciate your offer and intend to get any replacement parts from the guy you had such good luck with.

I understand, you let me know when you are ready.  Are you up for visitors yet???   you know another duc in my garage would be nice, but I think Mindy would kill me.  [bang]

Yeah, another Duc in your garage and Mindy might decide it's Open Season on your mechanical friends [laugh]  As far as visits go, today was the first day I've felt like my (old) self so come on over if you get a chance - you can survey the 999... it's been reduced to kit form  [bang]

Looks like I may be able to get 99% of the replacement parts I need from a 749 Dark being parted out at AMS.  Bodywork and everything  :D
