I'm new to the board and wondering if theres a wrench/beer/bs night. I've got a m900 that needs a valve shim adjustment. Happy to lend a hand to anyone else in need. I live in Hickory Creek on the North side near Lewisville.
Thanks,
Toby
You've definitely struck a resonant chord with the beer and BS part, dunno if anyone in this group has actually done a valve shim adjustment though. I did one on a 450 desmo 40 years ago, so I feel qualified to drink your beer and offer useless advice. [drink] ;D
Welcome to the DFWM!
Ill join the bs and drinking beer crew
im a useless mechanic
Does anyone have a shim kit? Not sure i'll need them. I measured them and they are too tight. I have a coworker who has done the job before but he's always busy w moving and kids.
I've done a ton of work on this bike including
new headlight
new clutch pack
new evr slave and galfer hose
new chain and sprocket
new brake pads
new plugs
new starter and relay
rewired the alternator connectors
cleaned and jetted the carbs

Nice! I've been looking for an old bevel single forever. Closest I can find is a 125 bronco in Tennesee. Did the single desmos use similar valve shims like our monsters use?

Contact Bullethead at dfwducati. He has one, but I do not believe he reads this board.
Thanks for the tip, i'll get registered over there.
Anyone in the Lewisville/Denton area BTW?
about 5 of us in the Frisco area. We are riding this Sunday if you care to join

+1 on the eternal search for a round-case single. A 450 Desmo would do it for me. I don't think the shims and collets have changed much since they were invented. My advice is to consider getting collets from MBP:

I live in Carrollton, which I think is actually Southern Lewisville, isn't it? ;)

Howdy Toby and welcome. There's one or two of us near you; I'm in Flower Mound over off of 1171 and Shiloh.
Looking forward to meeting you [beer]
Welcome Toby! I'm in Farmers Branch and have wrenched some on my Ducs.
Hope you can ride this Sunday [Dolph]
