I can't believe no one posted on this. WHo watched last nite? I can't be the only one. I've been waiting years to see this happen. After watching I'm trying to decide who is a bigger ass hat Paul Sr. or Jessie James. OCC made a Skidoo, and J.J. made a bike that looks like a chopper, not a bad looking bike, but certainly not awe inspiring, and worse is watch him ride it; he had to duck and look left just to see the friggin' road. Jessie did build his frame, but other than that meh. PJD wins in a landslide, sure there maybe some popularity at work, but to ME his bike is pretty slick. He got my vote, and aside from Jr loving everything he does a little too much he does not come off like an A-hole like his father and JJ. Plus who doesn't love Vinnie! He is he man.

I saw bits and pieces of it. I'm guessing Sr made the tank w/ flame thrower so when he loses he'll just blame it on the fact that the fans didn't "understand" his build. It's a bike build-off. How the hell does that equal building a tracked machine?
And while Jr is the least of the A-Holes they are all A-Holes that seem great at making bikes that can't perform for shit.
I like more Jesse's bike. More real, machine.
PJD bike looks like a pimp bike ;D
Sr's bike looks like like a nap mobile
Jr's bike makes him look like he's a pilot for the steampunk lollypop guild
Jesses bike looks like all of Jesses other bikes.
puff puff pass
i don't like any of them, but if i had to vote i'd choose jr's bike.

[bang] when is this going to fade away. The chopper is dead. It needs to go underground for at least 20 years before it resurfaces.

did you see Jr riding it? The thing is huge. It's like a caricature of a motorcycle. Jr could barely reach the pegs. It looked like me trying to ride my dad's ten-speed when i was 10.
Jesse's build looks like a bike I could put some miles on. stainless frame, hand formed tins and springer, wire wheels.. that's a motorcycle. "a motorcycle-themed motorcycle" as he said.
Some mildly interesting craftsmanship.
Beyond that, drop 'em in the crusher.
The exhaust coming out of the portholes in the tank should be interesting for those who love breathing in exhaust gasses,
Jesse's bike was killer [evil]

Except you have to duck your head to the side and down to see past the triples
Jr's bike only has a 1 gal tank so it has an effective range of about 20 miles.
And people thought the HM had a short range
Sr's vehicle was cool. Not really a bike though. I'm not sure you could even call it a trike. It looked like something Batman would ride.
Replace one flame thrower with a .50 caliber machine gun and the other with a 40 mm grenade launcher and you might have a toy the Petagon would buy. [evil]

I agree 100%
I have a lot of respect for JJ, especially now that he seems to be getting his life on track.
I've always liked that instead of ordering a frame he'd heat up tubing and bend it around a die and create it himself.
He is a good fabricator. His tanks are awesome. Pretty much whatever he gets into is killer. Fork legs on the forging hammer? Killer.
In my eyes he's the one that has sold out the least. He builds because he loves it.
Indian Larry was probably my favorite builder. A lot of what JJ does reminds me of Indian Larry's work.
So what if you have to look around the triple to see. Its not like we all don't make compromises to be on the machines we love.
I've seen some pretty sick bikes JJ has built and some I wouldn't want to ride at all. The one from the build-off isn't bad it's just not a style that I'd prefer. He is definitely the most talented builder of the 3.
Sr went for the "WOW" factor but IMO it's not a bike and certainly nothing you could ride down the street. It is something you would trailer to a cruiser type rally and ride a mile or so down main street then park to attract attention to yourself. After the rally you trailer it back home and wait for the next rally.
Jr is still building (or maybe I should say assembling) things along the same line, while a little more ridable than Sr's, he is still just looking for the "wow" from bystanders. IMO, he doesn't fabricate anything on the bikes but the bling. Any functional part of a bike he (or I should say his shop meaning Vinnie) does fabricate is done for bling instead of function. On another note, the feud between Sr and Jr is ridiculous. Where would Jr be if not for starting out in Sr's shop. I'm sorry but, give credit where credit is due.
Jessie is still building bikes along the same line as he always did. But at least you can say "build" referring to his bikes. And he doesn't use a million dollars + worth of equipment to build his bikes. I've never been into the stretched customs, even back in the '70s. But, I think his bike is the winner here.
I would rather have my stock 2003 monster than any of these "bikes"

I can't believe JJ's bike didn't win. WTF.
That said,

Sr's "vehicle" looks like something out of GI Joe circa 1985.

I had a lot of those toys growing up, so that's probably why I thought it looked cool. It's a full size GI Joe vehicle.

I'll take mine that I craftly modded, 99% of the time I only used a dremel.
I would rather watch Cafe Racer show.
OCC [puke]
PJD :-\
JJ :)
I like a lot of the design cues on the PJD bike, but he took the theme a little too far. We get it, its styled like a prop plane, you don't need to match the wheels to the belt cover. This bike almost makes the OCC "Jet Bike" look decent.
Hands down, JJ should have won if those were the three options.

i hate that cafe racer show. the format is horrible... little 10 minute snippets of builds. i would far rather them just do the whole season in one shot and do one build per show.
The format could definitely be improved but they've had some amazing builders on the show.
Anybody got a pic of Jesse's?

I guess, through all of it, I just wanna know one thing.
Why? ???
I like it, but it has way too much stretch in the down tubes and backbone for my taste.....
I like the fact that JR gave credit to his whole team. JJ played it off as thought he and 1 helper were going to build, until he realized that he would not make the due date. Then he had a mess of people help. JR's over the top. JJ's while from scratch, kinda boring. SR's would have been better with wheels, but more or less a no show. Stainless is an absolute nightmare to work with.
I'd like to see a do-over with each guy and a pile of scrap and a motor. Let's see who has real talent? My money would be on Jesse, A-hole or not, I like the guy.
Haven't watched it, not sure I will, but it looks like one guy won, but all three kind of lost. I am disappointed to say this, but JJ just didn't do anything to get excited about. That said, on any given day, I would lay down my own money for a JJ original. If a Paul Jr or Sr bike was given to me for free, I would push them off a cliff.

Agreed with Indian Larry...it was a sad day when he passed :-\
I miss the old Biker Build Offs...they had some pretty sweet builds. Also, it was more what the builder wanted to make, instead of some corporate fueled circus bike.
Billy Lane was a pretty good builder too. Off to Youtube to watch some old episodes!
I forgot about Billy Lane. He came up with some innovative things!
^ cept the breathalizer bike
Theres that

The bike with the hubless wheel was awesome!
Billy selling used cars these days or what? ;D
He is still in jail AFAIK.
JJ bike = what I'd call a chopper.
And it's re-kindled my interest in building one.
Damnit.
PJD has the best design skills of the group IMO. Granted many cannot be ridden but that's not why he's asked to build them either. JJ makes the "real" old school bikes and for those with the taste he's the best. Paul Sr. is simply a troubled asshole whose alienated his own family.....all of them.
For a show piece I'll take PJD and for riding I'll take JJ but only if he quits making rigids.

+1000. I wouldn't have any of those bikes. Ugly, poor performers, and screams "hey! Look at me! I'm an idiot!"
