Title: forza 4 anyone?
Post by: Le Pirate on December 06, 2011, 09:09:35 AM
I finally got a xbox 360.

My wife bought it for me, along with forza 4. I've never wasted so much time in my life as the last couple days  [laugh]

anyone have tips for a gaming nOOb? I tried playing on line last night. Kept getting my ass kicked by people with custom cars? I think...

Also, she got the 360S model, but it only has 4 gigs of memory, so I can't even install the second disc for forza. Does anyone know if the interal hardrives they sell for the 360 will fit in the 4 gig model?

I also need a head set, so I can respond to people talking shit online!  [evil]

Are you older than 15?

Then get used to not being competitive.

But have fun talking smack to the 12 year old kicking your ass. It's what online gaming is all about.  [thumbsup]

I'm pretty game illiterate, I must confess  [laugh]

I finished as well as 5th out 16, so I was pleased. It seemed from the people voice chatting that alot of them are middle aged men...i was quite suprised. Some were not though. I did learn that every quick race I got into were all LMP cars. I switched to an Audi R15 and I was keeping up.

Can't figure out how to choose which session I want to race in...just kept popping me into one.

I am worried that my between working full time, and now this demon game...my grad school grades are going to tank  ;D

Ah, the downside of the budget 360 Slim  :(

Unfortunately, you're options are kinda limited. Microsoft has a 250gb ($100 on Amazon) and 320gb ($120 on Amazon) hard drive that you can buy, and then there's 3rd party drives from 20gb to 120gb. You can also save a few bucks getting them Used through Amazon, ebay, or craigslist.

Just make sure you're getting a drive made for the S. They changed the configuration between the original Xbox 360 and the S.

I haven't picked up Forza 4 yet, but its on the list. I spent a bucket of time in Forza 3, and it was part of the reason why I bought my Xbox a year and a half ago.

I was looking at Forza 4 the other day.  We just got a 4GB 360 too w/ the Kinect controller.  Supposedly it follows head movements so you can check out what's happening beside you.  I don't have any online capabilities though.

If you can afford it, buy a wheel and pedal combo. Makes the game so much funner. They did a pretty good job with this one. In car views are great and the rendering of the interiors is really nice.

The interiors are awesome.

I can't wrap my head around driving from that view though. It just doesn't work on a TV for me. I still have to use the old fashion chase view. It is cool to look and see what the interior of all the cars look like though.

I hadn't heard about the kinect thing. I thought using the kinect meant that I'd have to hold my hands out infront of me like an idiot and "pretend" to drive. The guy at the store tried to sell my wife some silly steering wheel remote that you had to hold up in the air...she said the guy looked uberdorky demoing it for her  [laugh]

I'll look into the wheels and pedals though!

If you haven't played it, GET IT. It's the best racing game I've ever played. Think I'll pick up F1 2011 too, though.

If there are several people on here who end up with it, we'll all have to get together and race sometime

Forza 3 was pretty awesome (why I bought an XBox to begin with) - how does 4 compare?
