Discuss. And why is there no emoticon for this?
It's a SoCal thing, you can find them outside of almost any and every bar or night club in LA. Depending on who's making them they can look a lot better than they taste.
There's a little old mexican lady that makes them outside of the venue I work at, she definitely makes them with some love!
If you're ever in NYC, you gotta try out Crifdogs then...

My favorite is the goodmorning... bacon wrapped hot dog topped with melted cheese and a fried egg.
And if you can, try to get a reservation at PDT (Please Dont Tell) which is the hidden bar inside Crifdogs. You'll have to walk in and then go into the fake phone booth. Pick up the handset, tell them your reservation, and then the wall will open up letting you into a hidden room which is PDT. It's pretty fun and the have some pretty solid cocktails in there.
Denver has Biker Jim.
He started with hot dog carts.
Then he built a restaurant.
And now he's got a food truck that he wants to franchise.
The dogs are fantastic.

Nothing like a good dog! [popcorn] This year at the guy's opening season dove hunt at my buddy's west TX ranch we had chili dogs for dinner one night. I made the Wick Fowler's 2 alarm chili and my buddy cooked the dogs. Only thing that would have made it better was more cold beer and wrapping the dogs in bacon!! [thumbsup] [bacon] [drool] I'll try that next year.
Thrres a spot on east 8th saint marks area i got one from..
In the Southwest they're called sonoran dogs

The ones at BK Taco (especially the South Tucson location) are pretty phenomenal. [thumbsup]
ok, apparently I've been in baconless hell. I didn't know something so amazing existed.

Barra da Navidad, Mexico
So much yum!
I once had a near religious experience on the street in Pioneer square In Seattle. A big dog with bacon, cream cheese, grilled onions and spicy mustard.
Gotta love drunk food.
You know, that kinda sounds awesome... and I'm not drunk... yet. ;)

Done the bacon dog thing with chilli on top, then the egg on top of that, smothered in melted jack/cheddar/mozzarella cheese. [bow_down] [drool] [bow_down] [drool] [bow_down] [thumbsup]

I've been on a dog kick lately, this is something I've never thought of. My mouth is starting to water.
Damn you for bumping this thread! >:( I've tried really hard to forget about it and save my next cholesterol check! [bang]
Speaking of fried eggs, chilli, bacon, melted cheese, and hardening arteries...
This is the "Dirty Burger" at Knob Hill Brewery in Albuquerque. :D

From the bottom:
Bun, bacon chopotle mayo, burger, cheese, red chilli, 8 slices of bacon, frizzled onion strings, fried egg on top...
Yeah, it's not a dog, but I ate the whole thing...

Of course it looks good! [popcorn] [bacon] That's my problem and the fact that I've been through Albq. many times and have some how mercifully avoided this artery hardening goodness!
Now the next time I go I'll be forced to find this place of cardiac arrest delights and dig my grave that much deeper. [bang] I have no will power... I am weak. [roll]

Glad to be of some use to you all. [laugh] Of course it's OK. Angst and anguish befall me. Damn that burger thing from hell does look yummy! And damn the arteries! Full speed ahead! [laugh] [popcorn] [bacon] [beer] Now I need to see when Southwest Airlines has their next flight out to Albuquerque. I blame this all on BJ! And I all wanted to do was check out Ben Spies' Stackhouse Burger joint in town... now I need to go to New Mexico. Dammit! [bang] [laugh]

As I knew you would. What are friends for? [laugh] [bacon] [popcorn] Damn, I'm hungry! ;) Had some great red beans and rice for dinner but that bacon burger from hell sure looked good!
Mmm... I loves me some red beans and rice. [thumbsup]
With pork and bacon in the beans. [drool]

All this talk of bacon-wrapped processed meat made me hungry right before I went grocery shopping.
Dinner was a pair of them with onions and hot peppers, diced, and a slice of pickle.
On whole wheat rolls. Cause I'm trying to eat healthy.
The wheat buns counter act any pork badness, if there is such a thing. Good thinking. [thumbsup]
Fastwin,
You in ABQ yet?
[laugh]
[bacon]
