I got my EZ-pass statemtn this month ( i get them once every 3 months)
apparently, the toll for the Deleware Memorial Bridge is $25.00. If anyone is wondering, yes i double and triple checked to make sure that wasn't my replenish amount. the toll is suppose to be $3.00 only!
And the toll for the Holland tunnel is $8.50
for a motorcycle!
the face im making is the same face bruce lee is making in my avatar!
Here in socal, on toll roads the price varies by the time of day.
There's a small stretch of the 91 freeway in Orange County that is normally around $3.00. I've seen it as high as $15.00 and it's about a 5 mile stretch.

Here's what I do and this with work for anyone north and west of the city, to the north and east even this toll can be avoided
I use the Bear Mountain Bridge to cross the Hudson (which is "up" to 75 cents with EZpass if I recall correctly)
Then I do the windy road on the other side towards Peekskill, 9 (a highway at this point) to 9A (a few traffic lights but otherwise a 60+ mph road) to the SawMill River parkway (again a couple traffic lights but a 60-80mph road)
I get off a the Moshulu, then onto the Deegan, get off at Fordham Road/University Avenue Bridge. Turn right to cross the Harlem River (now you are actually in Manhattan), turn left after the bridge go through a small section of Inwood. Get onto the Harlem River Drive which turns into the FDR. I get off at whichever exit that is at Rockefeller University, then do the east bound outer roadway of the 59th St Bridge (it freaked my wife out going on that [evil] ) That puts me over in Long Island City, Queens for less than a dollar a day in tolls and really is only about 15 minutes longer at the time of day I go in. Going home I just do the 59th st bridge over and up to the GW, which is free going out.
I'm saving a tremendous amount a day versus Harriman toll + Tappan Zee Bridge toll + Ardsley toll + Triboro (sorry RFK) toll
Just one more obsurdity of the East Coast.
One toll road here. $15 if you use all 50 miles of it.

I've only done it twice, Heman would be one of the resident experts on putting up with it daily. It is.....different.

HeMan,
sounds like it didn't read your EZ-Pass and they had to check/run your plate... this has happened to 2001cromo a couple of times. He thought he was lucky at first when his EZ-Pass wasn't getting picked up on the bike... when mine was...then the statement came months later. OUCH! I guess I was the one getting lucky when it actually read mine. He learned this expensive lesson a couple of years back.
I had a friend in Chicago who used to pass thru the Ez-Pass thought it was all free. Until monthly later she was in for a rude awakening with some fat bill (wish I remembered the amount).
So what happens in the case mentioned below when the machine does not read your EZpass card ? How do they figure out what to charge you ?

if you have your plate number(s) in the account info they just charge the same. At least it's worked that way for me if the EZpass didn't register
At least here if your tag is on your account it just bills you normally. I have my bikes on the plan and we alternate 3 ezpasses for 5 vehicles (we're not supposed to but I keep forgetting to just get extra transponders). Every once in a while I forget to move it. Just bills it normally.
The commuter plan in my area is 75 cents per instead of 3 bucks. Also a huge savings. Without the plan it's still 10% off with an ezpass versus cash.

how does that explain the $25 though? i actually did not use the tag, i let my friend borrow it and his plate is well hidden from cameras. the tag was read the whole way down to North Carolina without issue. i filed the dispute and hopefully it will go through. actually he lost his tag on the way down there so its not like it would of picked up his plate even if it was attatche to the bike. :P

I used someone else's car one weekend to bring them down to the city and show them around. My EZpass didn't register at one toll so they got a bill in the mail. It was awhile ago so I don't remember exactly what I did or spoke to, but I got it taken care of and just put onto my account as the normal rate for the toll
