Any craft beer fans in the bay area frequent Drakes ?
Reason I ask is Hopocalypse is due out in Feb (3rd or 4th) with a special release at the brewery only of the "Black Label" Triple IPA.. I'm trying to nab two bombers and hoping a fellow Monster hooligan and hop-head can help me out. NAturally will GLADLY Pay for their cost+ shipping..
Thx Mucho [beer]
Don't like beer myself, but there are just a few people here who do. I'm sure someone will do your deed for you. [drink]
I can nab you some goodies and send them down your way. Let me know and if you haven't tried their Denogginizer you owe it to yourself to try that too.

THANKS !!!!!
Denog is on my list of fav's but i'd say Hopocalypse is better.. I wish it were year round and not seasonal.
The Hopocalypse Black Label Triple IPA is unobtanium down here... naturally.
I'll pm ya my info
If there's anything youre looking for down this way do not hesitate to ask !!
If you are in to the Double and Imperial IPA style of beer, may I also recommend you check out some of my other NorCal favorites:
- Russian River Brewing Company - Pliny the Elder Double IPA
- Russian River Brewing Company - Pliny the Younger Triple IPA (very limited draft only seasonal availability in February)
- Lagunitas - Hop Stoopid Double IPA
- Lagunitas - IPA Maximus
- Highwater Brewing Company - Retribütion Imperial IPA
- Highwater Brewing Company - Hop Riot IPA
Cheers!

Nice List !
Def a fan of PTE and let's not forget ...Blind Pig.
When Younger gets released down here it's an absolute mad-house!! (massive lines at select locations).
Also diggin' Kern River Brewing's "Just Outstanding and Citra..
Went to Drake's this past weekend and had an imperial stout that had been aged in oak barrels that were previously used to make port.....it is a good thing Drake's is right next to a Wal-Mart because I made a mess in my drawers and had to go get a new pair!

I have not had their Drakonic Stout yet... Have one in the fridge though [thumbsup]
Always nice when a brewer puts a lil spin on their beers every so often [beer]
OK......
I called Drake's yesterday and they open at 10am tomorrow (Sat.) I am hopping (teeheehee) to shoot over there tomorrow morning before the shooting range. I will be grabbing some suds at that point.
cheers [drink]
[thumbsup] [thumbsup]

You should see it up here; I live right by the brewery. Saying that people go nuts for the Younger is an understatement. Personally, I'd rather not wait for two hours to get a pint. Great stuff though.
Hopocalypse bombers obtained. Unfortunately no Triple IPA left. PM me w/ your info and I'll get them down to you.
Just got back from the Double IPA festival in Hayward *hiccup* and was fortunate enough to try some Hopocalypse Black Label before they ran out...good stuff, but I would have to say my favorite of the beers I tried was Moylans Hop Craic (pronounced Crack) XXXXIPA, 10.4% ABV and 150 IBUs....mmmmmmmm! Even better than Pliny the Younger IMHO.

Nice to see some beer fans in here. Anyone ever go to the Friday at Drakes event? I've yet to go but looks fun.
I'm interested as well about the Drakes 1st Fridays. Have a buddy that's been there and says it's enjoyable.
I had a desire to go the the Bistros' IIPA festival until I saw the ticket price, screw that for the amount of beer you get. I heard it wasn't nearly that much previous years, but my friends may have been mistaken. Sorry, I can brew 20 gallons of beer and still have some money left over for the ticket price for me and the misses. Pliny the Elder didn't blow me out of the water like everyone said it would, so I don't have high hopes for younger. I would have liked to try Drake's triple IPA though.
I'm very interested in cloning their Denogginzer and Jolly Roger, very great beers.
The misses and I are debating on a trip to North to Sierra Nevada or South to Stone brewing this summer.... Probably go to Chico, as she's an eco nut and Sierra Nevada is doing great things in regards to being environmentally friendly, but I haven't heard a lot about people touring up there, VS stone who it seems like everyone loves to go tour....
First Friday's are pretty good. As everything is outdoors there, it can be quite chilly, but that's what jackets are for. I'm hoping to go this Friday if anyone is interested.

The ticket prices at the Bistro Double IPA festival helps to keep *some* of the Riff-Raff out! I go because I want to support the local beer scene and there is really no place else where you can choose from 75 Double and Imperial IPAs on tap. Although next year I think I will only buy one ticket and make my wife use the glass from this year and just buy extra beer coupons.
The event at Harry's Hoffbrau was pretty cool this year too, lots of good IPA on tap and it was reasonably priced....too bad the place is such a dump with limited seating.
I heard the best way to deal with the bistro's IIPA festival is to come late and grab tickets from people leaving, aka puking their way to BART. lol. But Really the only beers I wanted to try I knew would be sold out pretty quick, so meh.
