On June 3 I'll be riding with Bikers Against Diabetes to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. I'm usually one of the few riders who doesn't dress like a pirate, but I don't care.
I've set a high goal for myself, based on what I achieved last year. Some DMF members were very generous in helping me meet and exceed my goal last year.
If you can make a $5 tax deductible donation to the ADA by following the link below, I would really appreciate it:

thank you for your support.

Easy schmeezy. [thumbsup]
Enjoy the ride! [Dolph]
Done, enjoy. [Dolph]
Done. Happy to help. [thumbsup]
I see you have a higher goal than your initial goal last year when you had to increase your fundraising goal a few times.
Ciao!
Done!
[thumbsup] for doing this again.
wow. i'm flattened by the response in just a couple hours.

yeah I learned that lesson from last year. I didn't set a very high goal last year because the economy was so shitty, but the generosity of people surprised me. So this year I'm aiming high. I have 5 months to make it happen, so I'm hoping I can make it.
so i'm off work today waiting for a plumber...
In just a few days I'm already to 28% of my goal. I feel grateful to have e-friends and e-quaintances willing to support me, especially when times are tough for so many.
I'm hoping I can continue the momentum, one $5 donation at a time.
My real goal the last 3 years has been to get more non-HD riders to join me, but doesn't seem like their thing (at least here in SoCal). Not a lot of charity rides for us non-pirates, it seems, but I keep trying to get others involved, especially the younger guys. It's challenging, but every time someone donates it gives me hope.
Strangely enough, I'm not even diabetic. No one in my family is diabetic (that I know of). That's usually everyone's first question, "Are you diabetic?" "Nope, just trying to help others." I'm sure there are other ways, but merging my joy of riding with helping others seemed like a no-brainer.
That's my ramble for the morning as I wait for the glory of caffeine to kick in.
If you could make a $5 tax deductible donation today, I would be one step closer. As someone who lost a leg in a moto accident told me about my meager $10 donation "Every little bit helps, and every bit helps a little."
you're now at 30%
due to some great people i'm at 50% of my goal. The date has been moved back to July 1, so I have more time to make my goal.
If you could make a $5 donation this weekend, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks again to some generous riders I'm up to $610, another $390 to reach my goal.
If you can make a $5 tax deductible donation today, myself and the ADA appreciates it.
Great job raising the money, Privateer!
[thumbsup]
Bump for a good cause.
progress continues on my march towards my goal.
Some very generous DMF'ers have helped me get even closer. I'm now only $290 short of my goal with about 3 more months to go.
Still no luck on getting some of my non-piratey friends to join me, but that's OK. We all ride for different reasons, I can't expect them to jump on board at my urging.
I know things are tight for a lot of people, but if you can make a $5 tax deductible donation to the ADA by following the link below, I would really appreciate it:

Closer still...
a little closer now. [thumbsup]
Again, thank you so much for raising money for the ADA. [thumbsup]
I'll refrain from donating any money through you because all of my contributions go to a very specific sub-sect of the ADA, but I really do appreciate your fund-raising efforts for the general fund.

On July 1 I'll be joining Bikers Against Diabetes fund raising and awareness raising for the American Diabetes Association.
Due to the generosity of several friends and acquaintances, I'm almost to my goal. If you can help out with a $5 tax deductible donation, I would greatly appreciate your help:

Nine weeks to go. I'm close to my goal, with just a little more to go.
Can you donate $5 today to the American Diabetes Association?
http://main.diabetes.org/goto/AndyKing (http://main.diabetes.org/goto/AndyKing)
well I was super surprised to come home today and see someone dropped a huge donation to push me passed my goal.
I want to thank everyone who has contributed, several DMF people even in far off places whom I'm never meet (altho, the ones I have met is a small group).
Donations are still welcome, it all goes to the American Diabetes Association and is tax deductible.
Well done, Privateer!
[thumbsup]
The generosity of relative strangers always shocks me, especially when the economy is still kind of shitty.
While I did meet my goal this year I'd love to kick it in the nuts some more. i've gotten a few more donations trickling in.
If you're able to make a tax deductible $5 donation to the American Diabetes Association, I'd appreciate your support.

if I can manage to raise $500 in the next month I can win a cruiser-ish leather jacket.
For those in the SoCal area, the event is July 1, 2012 at the Orange County Great Park (former El Toro Marine Base). $20 minimum donation includes admission to the show, a pin, one soft drink ticket, free water, one opportunity drawing ticket and concert entry, free parking. Active military receive free admission with ID.
Two more weeks.
I've exceeded my goal for this year but if you're able to make a tax deductible $5 donation to the American Diabetes Association, I'd appreciate your support.

well the ride is one day away.
i wanted once again to thank all the DMF people who very generously donated to help the American Diabetes Association.
If anyone wants to make a last minute tax deductible donation and help me get to that 1500$ mark, there is a link above to send them through.
Thanks again, and have a great weekend.
Thanks again to everyone who helped support me this year, whether it was $5 or $300, every little bit helps and every bit helps a little.
